Most real life people i know would react with “get off me i dont want to be touched right now” when they are that mad because they are processing the emotion they are having and unwelcome touching like that can come off as not permitting anger as an emotion to process.
And i understand on the face of it that sounds harsh to bystanders but i can also understand that moment is about learning and processing and managing hard emotions for that person needing to hold that moment for themselves.
I wish they had a website that they posted their comics to other than Instagram. Feeder can’t properly scrape Instagram so I can’t “follow” them without visiting a meta site, I just read them via osmosis on Lemmy and discord and whatnot.

Facebook didn’t matter much because despite it connecting me to so many people, most of those connections were superficial.
On discord I still have friends who I socialize with. It’s also the best platform for screen sharing/movie nights. Element/Matrix has that but it’s… screwy. Discord has its issues with privacy but at least the platform itself is robust.
I really with Revolt/Stoat was comparable, or Element/Matrix. But they fall just short of me being able to feel justified enough to try and push my friend group to one of them.
There is absolutely zero excuse to be using Discord. If you’re still on Discord because you have “friends” or simply because Matrix is a little “screwy” you’re choosing your own convenience over the lives of other people.
Mayrix depends on the client you use. I suggest you looking into Sable and setting up your own server with Continuwuity.
If people make excuses to stay on Discord even when something like Sable has been set up to transfer to, then they’re not people worth knowing.

Tangential, but ever since we watched Obsession I can’t get up to pee in the middle of the night anymore without my girlfriend shrieking “STAAAAAAAY!!”

Technically it’s the letter spacing since it’s every letter, but just a few pairs.
I’d bet, even without looking at other strips in the series, that it’s a font. The letters are very consistent.
I was looking at comic lettering the other day, and saw someone try to make a font based on Bill Watterson’s lettering in Calvin and Hobbes. One thing you immediately notice is that all of the individual letters look identical. You can make variable fonts these days, and I’d guess that there’s likely some technical route to create variation, but ordinarily, fonts don’t have that variation, and even someone who does a lot of lettering has a certain amount of natural variation from letter to letter.

“Mad” as in “angry”, I assume. So, the woman is angry at the guy. You don’t want to force them into a cuddle, if they need a bit of distance to cool down first…
She’s not necessarily angry at the guy, just angry in general. She might prefer to be alone after something irritating or otherwise anger inducing happened, and he’s trying to add a little love to remind her that he’s there, then leave so he can give her space to be angry.
Fair enough. I assumed, she’s angry at the guy, because then it’s the usual reversal of expectations that she wants more cuddles…
Yeah but he gave her a hug. You can’t just give a drive by hug when someone is angry. Either you go for the silent apologetic cuddles or you stay away.
