  • Punching up is mostly courageous rebellious and poetic satire on higher ups and their policies, Punching down is mainly spiteful and egregious hack comedy. But I think mixing them together to point out the deficiency and incompetence and straight up selfishness of some people and how people with power tend to manipulate and ridicule them while they cavern and bow down to their knees like with Always Sunny South Park and WKUK should classify as morally acceptable comedy.

    Punch Up not down but if you do Punch Down make sure it also comes across as Punching up to the people in power and those less fortunate who either bow to them or think they’re highly privileged and tend to punch down themselves.

    Pretty sure that’s what Don Rickles and George Carlin made their careers out of.
