I use a redirector extension for YouTube so PipedBot is useless and annoying for me. I’d rather someone just give me a YouTube URL and let the redirector extension do its work.
TL;DRbot is okay, I guess.

What brand, if I can ask? Over in the UK I’ve only seen Dr. Pepper USA do cherry vanilla, which is different to Coca-Cola’s Dr. Pepper that uses aspartame and sugar. (US Dr. Pepper uses HFCS) UK Dr. Pepper was way too strong with the sugar but with the aspartame it just tastes watery and dead.
Zevia is quite tricky to get in the UK (not seeing any Vanilla Cola imported here) but if I see an opportunity to get it imported, I’ll go for it.
Tangentially related, Amazon has a lot of Green Cola, don’t know if that’s a brand people know or not but they claim to use stevia as well. Edit: Green Cola does contain sucralose so if you’re trying to skip that one too, keep that in mind.
Cherry vanilla? I thought that was American! Haven’t had it in a while since the importers don’t have 'em in stock.
Switched to Windows from Linux for a bit because I was having a few problems with Linux, but the main one is that seemingly, spotty 5Ghz connections cause iwlwifi to panic, which means no wifi. Windows does not have this problem. (relevant chip is the Intel AX210)
It’s annoying because the UX on KDE is objectively better than Windows and I don’t want to have to deal with slower connections because the wifi driver has a dumb bug, and reporting the bug to the LKML is something I do not have the knowledge to do.
Full-sugar Coca-Cola Vanilla. Was a bit of a hit in the UK in 2000s, was revived in 2013, then discontinued in favour of their aspartame-filled mess. I tried the “zero sugar” variant and it just tasted like cheap cola with a hint of vanilla. I’ve since gone for Tim Hortons’ French Vanilla since they started expanding here.
Sometimes it might be sold off. I know LTT sold their Steam Deck to DankPods because Valve still haven’t brought it into Australia.
I use an iPad, am subscribed to Apple Music and also use a Hackintosh setup (aiming to replace it with a MacBook of some kind in the future).
As for your point on bloatware, this happens on Android too. I can’t remove Facebook, OneDrive or YouTube from my phone, only “hide” it. (Samsung btw)
WhatsApp, pretty much.
Can +1 for Herman Miller (and maybe mesh chairs in general), however I went for the Cosm instead. It’s supposed to be a “relaxation” chair in comparison to their Aeron but the taller back on the Cosm I tried was much more suitable for me than a regular Aeron.
That being said, OP, look up where you’re able to try the chairs once you’ve got some recommendations. Not a good idea to go in blind. For Herman Miller, John Lewis is a good retailer in the UK that has their chairs on display.
The Lemmy instances that are popular right now likely won’t sell it like Reddit would. However, you don’t really need to, to grab publicly available data from Lemmy instances. The data is publicly available to view and for scrapers like Common Crawl (one of the datasets used for machine learning, used as one of the training datasets for GPT-3) to scrape. I don’t know if Lemmy allows admins to hide comments without an account or not.
Yup! The fishy glue smell is real, but there’s no legitimate reports of the Cybertruck emitting those, as much as people would believe that.
Someone on Bluesky claimed that the Tesla Cybertruck was emitting “human sewage” or “fishy glue” smells with a convincing edit of a Insider News article. Then they convinced me more by editing/making from fiction a Cybertruck owners discussion board to say someone was posting about their Cybertruck smelling like dog pussy. To be honest, when I saw that I should have known it was fake, but I can absolutely believe the Cybertruck smelling rancid from failing electronics.
I believed the fake article since I had a similar situation with a failing minifridge. There was a strong electronic smell coming from it and while it wasn’t really “fishy glue” I knew something was failing and disposed of it immediately. I also remembered a YouTuber having issues with her home wiring emitting a fishy glue smell.
I know they screwed over Cartoon Network pretty badly. Closed its main studios and merged it with Warner Bros. Animation, and season 2 of Mao Mao: Heroes of Pure Heart was practically done and they sold the franchise as a tax write-off, if I recall.
The most controversial write-off in general however was Coyote vs. ACME, the backlash WBD got for trying to sell that off got them to actually reverse their decision.
Rate Your Music and MusicBrainz both use traditional forums, though I haven’t really posted in them lately. I also joined EndeavourOS’ forums at the time I joined Lemmy.
I’m on 6.6.10 😩 but I do need to update anyway haha, thanks for the reminder
I’ve been having this weird issue with wifi where it will just switch itself off (shown in NetworkManager as “no available connections”) and not allow me to restart the OS normally. It’s like the driver is crashing or something. Hardware isn’t the issue, otherwise it would have happened on Windows. Drivers can be an issue, as NVIDIA users know too well. Games can be a bit choppy on Linux if you use ray-tracing, probably due to drivers as well as the intermediary processes for getting games to work like DXVK. This was my experience with Cyberpunk 2077. Game modding can be an issue due to .NET not being fully there yet, especially if you have games that are glitchy and require stability mods for a good experience. (e.g. any Bethesda game that exists.)
The only thing keeping me from full-timing Windows is the fact that Windows 11 just plain sucks. I feel like I have to use it, rather than want to use it. Compared to even a bog-standard KDE setup, the Windows experience is miserable. As for Mac, I have a Hackintosh but Apple really loves to render everything on the GPU side and it’s chugging my ol’ GPU. Maybe I need to go get an M-series MacBook this year.
Regarding point 2, this was why deadmau5 used Mac for a long time during his live gigs. He likes the predictability of a Mac, it makes it easy for him to get back going if something goes wrong.
He’s had to stop using it for the Cube stuff though, since it requires a lot of Windows software.
Teya & Salena represented Austria in Eurovision last year with “Who the Hell is Edgar?”, it was written from the perspective of wanting to be taken seriously in the industry, veiled through a fun song about being possessed by the ghost of Edgar Allan Poe, though the bridge gets quite blatant and singles out Spotify for not paying its artists properly. It was one of the favourites in the Eurovision community last year and I think it would’ve done better had the Finland vs. Sweden rivalry not happened.
