Courtney (she/her/they)

Hello lovelies, I am a (trans)Woman who is still in the process of discovering herself!

I have been working up the courage to be who I am for so long, I am excited to be figuring things out.

Pre-HRT, pre-fashion-sense, and pre-confidence.

Any and all tips and advice from more experienced women are welcome!

  • The duality of lemmy:

“I am SHOCKED someone would ILLEGALLY MODIFY something that ISN’T THEIRS!”

    Vs

    “lol firebomb time”

Legit, if you’d rather put in work to modify a street light and risk the consequences instead of putting up curtains, use old cardboard boxes cut in such a way that it drapes a long side over your house’s direction, but not long enough to impede light on sidewalks.

Less work, less cost, less chance of being arrested.

I do understand not wanting to have to use blackout curtains, as I like looking outside.

Personally I use a 100w led spotlight I made, and point it at the street light for a minute or so if I want it off. Works for a few minutes, at least.

  • They aren’t, but they have the understanding of literal children. They can’t process the fact that a pirated game isn’t a lost sale, because to them every single person on the planet wants what they have to offer, and if they get it any way OTHER than buying it outright at full price, CLEARLY it must be theft and people are targeting them specifically because what they have is so great.

I pirated Minecraft back in the beta days, decided I loved it, and eventually bought it (before notch went full mask off and the sale of mojang) had it not been for TPB, mojang would have had one less sale.

Same for several others. Hilariously, the only time I ever recieved a c&d was for a game I loved and then canceled the online order for when I got the letter two days later. I wanted to buy it, but the letter made up my mind that I was never giving them money again. Fuck em. Dead rising went downhill after the first one anyway so I didn’t miss much.

Executives view life as a zero-sum game.

  • I have moved back in with parents, who are struggling to pay their own bills. It’s mutually beneficial, but goddamn does it make transitioning hard. I doubt they would kick me out since they’d lose the house when they can’t pay bills, but in the meantime I would need to find somewhere to put up a tent and hope I can store my stuff somewhere cheap.

Since my spouse got fired over a medical issue, and their health has since spiraled, we have been eating through our savings. “Luckily” I just started a second job today.

Sure would be great if you could survive on a single income as a family like people used to be able to do. We’d have to make billionaires extinct first(and even then it’d be a long road getting from here to there) and unless society does a 180, that’s not happening.
