OP is talking 6 AH batteries. If that’s all SiC can do, why would Apple use it in place of current 18AH batteries?

Apple was never leading edge - their goal is to incorporate when it works well
But you’re both cherry picking and wrong. There’s huge lists of features on every new phone, you’re picking two and deciding that means no innovation. Take a look at the dozens of other features on models from each manufacturer.
SiC batteries that offer 6-8k mAh
You’re complaining about battery chemistry that you believe is innovation, yet current batteries are much larger. Why switch if the technology is not as good yet?
My guitar teacher got me with a good one. At one point we were discussing care and replacement of the strings, named by the notes they play (E-string, A-String, etc) ……. I wanted to be diligent about taking care of my guitar so innocent kid me spent days talking about buying a new G-string before someone had mercy on me and explained it
Edited to clarify and add a little context
Yeah I’m not even sure why I watched it, it looks so bad. But it’s entertaining as heck, and well worth watching again
Those are big budget? I thought they were great low budget movies
I’m thinking the same thing but maybe not that small. I really liked the Honda Element for this, but it wasn’t right for me at the time. Maybe soon Rivian R2S or R3S, or if that’s too big, Slate?
It’s a very small percentage of people who would come across a bear and need a weapon. Here in eastern us, you shouldn’t have them for black bears. However I can see long guns in places with grizzlies …… im not convinced it useful, but I can understand feeling threatened
That’s certainly part of it - here in the US, police need fewer guns, harder to get, better training. They need to be demilitarized. I don’t think I’m naive about what police need to be able to handle, but all too often it seems like their first reaction is to start blasting. Most police interactions by far do not need a weapon. Most do not need the escalation.
And of course a big part of that needs to be restoring “qualified” to “qualified immunity”. The current blanket immunity makes bad situations worse
Before the current political climate I would have said it should be a lot harder to get a weapon (except maybe a long gun), and we need to reduce the quantity at least three orders of magnitude (thousandth).
But the current political climate really makes it a stark choice. My visceral reaction is that with the gestapo kidnapping people off the street and sending them to remote gulags, the suspension of due process and constitutional rights, political leadership holding themselves above the law …. We really need guns. All of them. For everyone, to defend against tyrants as the gpframers f the constitution intended
Then I came to my senses. My more considered reaction is the anger, divisiveness, bigotry, and general craziness accepted out in the open, is just going to lead to untold deaths, feuds, more spite and anger, more lawlessness. We need to send Sherman through the south, confiscating all firearms
When I was in a similar situation, I wish I thought of “one way”. I realized after the fact that many people were walking one way to the store but taking a taxi back with their load of groceries. However I have no idea whether it was actually affordable or if that was their only choice.
You should look into that. How affordable is a taxi if you only take it one direction?
Competency implies having some qualification other than loyalty, listening to subject matter experts, considering consequences. The result of competency could easily be just a matter of degree and awareness.
For example, tariffs can be a powerful tool for addressing specific trade inequities or supporting local production, especially in conjunction with other tools. Many US administrations have successfully used them. Only an incompetent buffoon would just throw them down everywhere all at once as the only tool, or as a bullying tactic.
And some turnip brain has thrown down a random slalom course of giant boulders of tariffs, terrorizing immigrant labor, and a full clown car of national “leadership” whose only qualification is personal loyalty
When someone says you stand like you have a stick up your ass, they mean the other way. It should help keep you vertical
That’s a bit of an edge case but why not? If they earn enough to live the way they want, are secure from immediate financial catastrophe, and can afford some luxuries, then maybe they are wealthy, despite being subsistence
Meanwhile someone can earn a nice fat six figure salary but be over mortgaged for house and car, not living comfortably, and paycheck to paycheck on the edge of financial disaster. They’re poor, despite it being by their poor choices
Wealth is freedom from want and financial anxiety
Best way to recover from a spin is push the yoke to straight down and rudder opposite the spin.
This exact question from this thread is how rich are you and 34 months is quite wealthy.
It’s an important distinction where I’m a potential counter example. I admit it. I earn what ought to be a comfortable living but poor choices in the past (and probably still) mean that I’m only a couple months from financial disaster. And since it would affect my kids education and my old age, the affects would be major. I am clearly not wealthy, mostly due to my own choices
A couple months, but
Basically I’ve been saving up for years to redo a leaky moldy bathroom. That wouldn’t get done. Maybe ever
I’ve saved what I could to pay for my kids college. I could ruin their entire future to stay alive
I’m coming up in retirement age with way too little savings. I’ve finally able to put aside enough to catch up a little bit I guess that would go pretty quickly too
Not that it helps the victims but maybe we need a bunch of falsely abused and detained reporters able to afford significant lawsuits.
I like to think I’d stand up and do it, but I’m white and in a state where we don’t often have such conflict.
I mean we do, you can’t avoid it with the current administration. However it’s just not as often. Actually a couple of weeks ago one of my city councillors was roughly detained for videoing a gang of masked thugs depriving people of their rights. However while I don’t think it’s as simple as racism, he is Hispanic and that clearly makes a difference

30 years ago most people weren’t yet on the internet, there was very little entertainment media, you couldn’t use online accounts for most stuff, and most people didn’t have online bill paying. 30 years ago I helped bring my company online as the first full investment company, and my bank was still rare for doing online bill paying.
30 years ago, most of the US were in denial over climate change, renewable energy was expensive and there were no practical EVs.
