    Hey as someone who works in a slaughterhouse, my depression and anxiety existed long before I started working here. If anything it has gotten better since I got the better pay, don’t have to deal with the public, and started seeing a therapist.

      Yeah, it doesn’t destroy every single person that works there. Some people don’t have that part of their brain that gives them empathy for non-human animals, so for them it’s just a job - usually with okay pay and sometimes benefits.

      But, statistically, workers destroy their lives working in slaughterhouses. On the whole, they’re a blight on society.

      I’ve also killed and butchered enough animals to know that I do not want to do that ever again. Even killing a fish bothers me, you can see how scared they are even if you can’t hear their screams. How could I ask someone else to do something I refuse to do myself?
