Title says it all
Like, do snakes even know youre their friend? From the people ive seen, they are still trying to kill you and wrap themselves around your neck, so why do people still keep them and talk to them as pets?
My guinea pig still sometimes runs away from me, but she at least likes me and and my voice and just stops eating if I dont speak to her every day to the point that I needed to force feed her nutrient slop, she lets me cuddle her, etc
And snakes are just like: I will kill you the second I see you
Oh she’s a pretty one! I’ve never kept reptiles and it’s wild to me how much less maintainance they are compared to mammals. Like it’s probably easier to mess up if you’re inexperienced but just the day to day chores seem a lot less involved. I’d like to keep a snake some day. It’d have to be a garter or egg eater or anything that doesn’t require pinkies though. Don’t have the stomach for keeping those around 😅
That’s not reptiles as a whole. Chameleons are pretty finicky from what I hear. But most snakes are pretty ez
