I’m reading this after just finishing a video about asteroid hunters getting chased off by tribal villagers who thought the space rock full of arsenic seeping into their ground water was actually a curse and wouldn’t let them remove the rock poisoning their ground water in case they made god mad. Animal sacrifices ensue, and the wind didn’t blow, so dig it - oops the corrupt government showed up after all the fear waffling.
