Preferably something that is available in Europe, won’t break the bank and is future proof (filters easy to obtain).
I was about to reccomend replacing your AC/furnace filter with one that’s rated at MERV 11, but just remembered that most European homes don’t have central air…
I recommend a box fan and whatever square filter from the hardware store fits on the back with some duct tape. Fuck ever buying an air filter again I swear to god.
I had a nice air filter, was able to buy replacements one whole time before they stopped making the ones that fit in favour of slightly different shaped ones for the new model of fan. Don’t remember what brand at this point.
Had airline points that were expiring and spent them on what would have been two $850 Dyson air purifiers just to use them up, the shop was full of junk. (1700 for two fans?!?). The replacement purifiers were $150 each so I just used a PC blower to dust them. Eventually both were bricked by the software and wouldn’t run despite the screen turning on because it displayed an exclamation point 🤷♂️. They wanted $250 per fan to fix them because they were both a month out of warranty, which feels a little too on the nose. Never touching a Dyson product again.
Replaced them with Kmart air filters, three of them were cheaper than the repair cost of one of the Dyson fucks. Was able to replace the filters once and they’ve never been in stock in store or online again for over a year now.
Just make your own. It’s just a fan that pulls through a filter.

I need to get another one, because my current one is too small for my room. Will likely make one though, so I can use regular furnace filters rather then specially shaped ones that I might not be able to obtain in the future.
