    • Frieren was awesome but it’s so fresh I’m not absolutely sure it’ll keep being that

    • Severance season 1 (follow-up seasons upcoming, not sure if they can keep up with the extremely high quality of S1)

    • True Detective season 1

    • Madoka was great, thanks to tight storytelling and the best soundtrack I’ve ever heard

    • Kino’s Journey – somewhat similar to Frieren but 20 years prior

    • Chernobyl (2019)

    • Dr Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog

    • Firefly

    • Twin Peaks, especially seasons 1 and 3, but season 2 and the movie might be needed to fully appreciate

It’s like a good C++ that is actually able to replace it. There are lots of places where a good C++ is useful. Like everything that needs low latency and low resource usage.

But it’s not an easy language, so (I’m guessing) people who see everyone loving it but are unable to learn it start to suffer some sort of cognitive dissonance. If it’s too difficult for me to learn, that must be its fault, not mine.

I thought the level of discourse has increased sharply since lemmy.world got along, and the effect of lemmy.ml’s somewhat extremist stance has lessened. It’s now possible to mostly actually talk here without blocking half of the whole network.

So I would be perfectly ok with dropping lemmy.ml from the rest of the network. But I’m guessing that goes somewhat against the overall philosophy of the whole thing?

  • Perhaps a trillion galaxies out there. Numbers of stars in a typical galaxy is about 100 billion. But at least we have more grains of sand on our planet.

Anyway, life most probably gets better after high school, and most probably keeps getting better until you’re old enough to develop some disease. Or perhaps you die in war, or in a hospital bed, or homeless under a bridge.

I truly don’t know where I’m going with this.
