I still think every person working a cash register should be allowed one free kill at work every year. People would be a lot more polite if they knew there was a chance they could face actual consequences for their actions. Would especially help around the holidays, as you dont know if this Taco Bell employee has burned his kill yet prior to the new year

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why isn't it considered vegan to harvest animals who die naturally?
1·11 days agoVeganism isn’t an organization with strict rules and regulations. There is no one definition of veganism. My evidence is the fact that nearly every vegan cites consent as one of the primary factors behind their decision to be vegan.
Edit: but hey here’s an article on their site mentioning it.
Veganism is about neither using nor abusing non-humans, who all have a right to life and freedom. These animals cannot consent to being raised for milk and meat. Whatever conditions we keep them in, farming them is always an abuse of power.
I’ve had this literal exact argument with you before. Glad to see you’re still committed to having the worst possible takes

1·11 days agoVegans aren’t just vegan, they’re vegan for a reason, and that reason is almost universally an issue of consent

I’m confused. Are you blocking users that harass you, or communities where they’re talking amongst themselves? Because like. Ofc they’re going to talk about veganism in a community centered around veganism, and they’re gonna react poorly when you barge in complaining about them. That’s like saying chess players are particularly annoying because they don’t like hearing how much chess sucks on /r/chess
It’s the vegan choice for linux, in that actual users of it aren’t actually that annoying, but everyone else plays up the stereotype so much that y’all think they actually are
I don’t use Arch btw and also I’m not vegan

Yup yup. The cheapest stuff you can find for the hobby will still set you back several hundred dollars, and you’ll be doing the equivalent of doodling with crayons. I do not regret buying a Celestron Astromaster 130EQ, but I’m also fully aware of why people call this thing a hobby killer
I’m tempted to say something famous like the Indy 500, but I think I would be a simple 5K
You are thinking about it way more than any white supremacist does
Writing Batman as “Anti-KKK” really loses track of the origins of the character. This guy basically IS the KKK

But only after your coconspirators fail in a series of fuckups that would make for a perfect In Bruges style dark comedy
Will never not find it hilarious that Nedeljko Čabrinović threw a grenade, ate his cyanide, and jumped off a bridge, but the grenade didn’t kill anyone, the cyanide was expired, and the river was near dry so he only broke his legs and vomited
The email: “3pm on Friday works for me”
The summary: “Your coworker is emailing you to let you know that they will be available for the meeting at 3:00 PM on Friday, October 31st.”
The only valid use case for AI in my experience is helping with Linux, and even then you gotta make sure not to trust it too much
