It’s a trap. The moment you hold the baby on your own, it steals your soul and gives you brain chemicals to make new babies. That’s how baby is formed

YOURE NOT MY SUPERVISOR
Are you looking for an apprentice?
Just a little drop. Just to see how it feels.

204·1 day agoTo elaborate, they are tankies who believe trans rights are western pink washing. And who larp as Haitian revolutionaries from their ergonomic computer chairs. And who literally do not post outside of their home instance because they can’t handle the internet without their “I win” ban button.
I’m pretty sure China calling itself “central county” probably plays some role as well.
Yup, this has been going on since the very early days of online casinos. A buddy of mine get screwed out of a few thousand playing one of those Caribbean poker sites because the Caribbean “bank” which handles the deposits didn’t participate in the US banking system, and he’d checked a box which certified that he was a citizen of St Lucia or something. Whoops.
Is this a recession signal?

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is something that everybody does right now that is common and normal but is actually probably very unhealthy?English
3·8 days agoI’m just pointing out that your worldview, in which no worldview is objectively correct, is in axiomatic conflict with my worldview, in which I am and have always been right about everything. So either I am and have always been right about everything or you are absolutely right about this one thing. Either way it disproves the conjecture that nobody can be absolutely correct about anything.
I’m just spitballing though. Please do not take anything I say seriously.

5·8 days agoBut you are just positing that your worldview, in which I do not possess the singular, objectively correct worldview, is itself the singularly correct worldview, among this particular pair of worldviews.

2·8 days agoAs soon as the leaves change I’m back to tea and coffee, but when it’s hot it just isn’t refreshing the same way. I’ll make iced coffee and even then there’s something about it which doesn’t quite fit my brain hole. Like I taste coffee, and I get the cozy nesting chemicals, but summer is not cozy. It’s hot and uncomfortable. And sunburn. That’s when I want a nice cold glass of beer, or chemically flavored, carbonated caffeine drink.
One thing I have started doing is snacking on beans. Apparently each bean has like 6-10mg of caffeine and I think they are tasty.

5·8 days agoOne of the first arguments I got into with my wife was over whether we should get glass or plastic Tupperware. She wanted plastic because it is lighter to carry for lunch. I don’t like microwaving things in plastic. We got plastic initially, but she destroyed them quickly by heating up sauce in the microwave and now we have glass. The crazy thing is that the nice pyrex Tupperware was only like $15 more than the shitty plastic set.

1·10 days agoA 20 minute wait at DCA would make me pretty upset as well. Early 2010s was the “trains keep catching on fire” era, which meant they would single-track for weeks after the incident to make repairs. These days the trains don’t catch on fire nearly as often.
