@Skullgrid yes, they are. I don’t contradict you. But in their opinion it really is better to be a dictatorship than a democracy.

The only solution is to just keep fighting for your values in every way possible, as I said, and show people that these are objectively better than what they crave for (or, if objectivity is not possible, subjectivity can help as well)

@Mee it just seems like that. In reality, everything in the world has been just someone’s interests - because that’s how the world was built. In fact, good and evil are just subjective terms. What may be good for you, it might be bad for somebody else. Your evil might be someone else’s good and vice-versa.

I think you should think the things into more of what you care the most, what your values are, what is important for you overall. And then you’ll see the bigger picture: people are just having different values than you, they think that the values you believe in are not theirs. And I am somewhat in the same situation as you - let me give you an example:

Among the values I care the most are democracy, personal freedoms, the ability to voice out (politely) your own opinion; you’d think I am a normal person, that no sane person would be thinking otherwise. Well, what if I told you, you’re wrong! There was a poll last year in my country where 40% of the people said they would agree with my country returning under a dictatorship. Forty freaking percent!!! This is mind-boggling, right? That’s what I also think.

What would be the solution to a problem like this be like? Well, you could join the crowd, that would be the most obvious, right? Be one with the majority, mindlessly agree on what they say, do what they do. But I bet you would never see your place in there. Instead, I think you should keep staying true to your own values and beliefs and look for people that share these. Speak to them, understand them yourself as well and who knows, maybe you can do something about it. 😁

@Pyflixia This one might be a very obscure thing, but back when I was in high school, I used to download music from a website called mp3ostrov.rucom (edit: it was .com, apparently). Of course, the website was in Russian and I couldn’t understand a damn thing, so I had to resort to the Chrome translation for it (Or I guided myself with the icons). But it had so much music on it, and it was really easy to get. And whatever I could not source from there, I downloaded from YouTube, but the downloader I used had too many ads.

@clark Ugh. You could probably get away with multiple cloud storage services then, and mapping their folders to the music player of your choice. Also, use file types that are generally smaller in size for storing music (like opus or ogg). For cloud services, use the ones whose apps support Storage Access Framework so they can appear in the default Android File Manager / File Picker thing (you can also use something like Round Sync to access them all, and it does all the job for you). If you’re willing to pay for cloud storage, then one single provider with 100-200 GB can also be more than enough for your music needs if you own more than just a few songs.

Then you can add the folders in your music player settings.

Edit: Don’t forget to also backup your music somewhere in case something happens with your phone or your cloud provider(s)

Yes. Any music player will generally prompt you to scan for your files upon first opening.

Edit: didn’t notice your first question. Well, I just get them from everywhere, lol. If you have a tracker that you use for anything, be sure that there will be some music there. If you cannot find it, then just refer to the FMHY’s list of various tools to download music from just about anywhere: Spotify, YouTube, SoundCloud you name it. I also buy music from Bandcamp as it supports downloading it directly for an unlimited amount of times and in any of the most popular formats, or just go to the band’s concert and buy their album directly. This way you’re also supporting the artists directly with your money (if you care about it).

@princessnorah Romanian here. We’re generally not using VPNs because ISPs do not seem to care that much. Even so, there is a popular private tracker (I won’t advertise it here) which has pretty much all you need, especially movies and popular software. If you use that one, you can be 100% sure nothing will happen to you.

Edit: we also have non-permanent IP addresses by default, so if anything, I can just restart my router, and I am assigned a new one.
