Can someone eli5 why emule stopped being used, if people liked it so much?
The way I see it, soulseek is focused on sharing smaller files and niche stuff to a small community. For large files, or things with a large audience, other tools would be better suited.
I use soulseek quite often. It’s a good source of books and pdfs too.
Doesn’t apply to all, unfortunately. For me, it has been a mess. My life is a constant fight for survival, because even simple things, like eating, are difficult for me, and at the end of the day, I have barely any time to do anything that i want to do in life.
Thanks for the nice community. I’d like to give a small suggestion: to use the link format !community@server instead of the full https link in the relevant communities section in the sidebar, because it makes it easier for people to click on and subscribe themselves, even if they’re from different lemmy instances.
Example: to use [email protected], instead of https://lemmy.world/c/[email protected]. The first format will work for people from any server, but the second one will only work for people from lemmy.world.
