Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What should be the ONE universal controller layout that everyone would agree on?
1·1 year agoThat’s what PlayStation calls them. Xbox calls them LSB and RSB (Left/Right stick button). Nintendo has no name for them, they just refer to them as “clicking the left/right stick”. Also Nintendo calls the bumpers L and R, and the triggers ZL and ZR.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What should be the ONE universal controller layout that everyone would agree on?
1·1 year agoNot ALL the time. For the most part, you use your left thumb on the left analog stick and the D-Pad, and your right thumb on the right analog stick. But, SOMETIMES, you have to keep your character moving with the left stick while at the same time switching weapons/items with the D-Pad, especially when escaping a tough situation.

1·1 year agoHistoric order. L1 and R1 (LB and RB) first appeared in the Super Nintendo ( 1991), L2 and R2 (LT and RT) made their debut in the PlayStation (1994) and L3 and R3 came out first in the PlayStation 2 (2000), I think.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•We all know grammar Nazis. What incorrect grammar are you completely in defence of?
4·1 year agoI see what you did there.
I can also twist my ankles like that painlessly. But I can’t touch my toes with my finger tips without bending my knees at all, best I can do is like 10 inches away.
One time, in my early 20s, I was hanging out with a group of friends in a packed sedan. We went to pick up a girl, who was my cousin’s friend and who I thought was cute, but we had only seen each other a few times and we had never even crossed words. Anyway, there was no more room in the car and, without a care in the world, I said she could ride on my lap. She just smiled and said okay. That got us talking and by the end of the night we were making out. We ended up dating for a few months after that.

Unless it’s "How YOU doin’?
Definitely think of them as American. I’d say the Mexican version of pancakes would be the “gorditas de nata”.

In northwest Mexico we call them “hotcakes” (pronounced “jotqueis” in Spanish). I’m not sure about the rest of the country, probably “panqueques”.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What was the hardest video game boss for you?
2·2 years agoSeymour Flux. I got stuck on that one for a week.
I grew up in a border town in northern Mexico. We got a bunch of the TV channels from the US town across the border. I learned English watching those American channels.
Funny thing is, NASA uses metric.
