RAM and cpus use the proper 1024 B to kB to MB to GB. Unlike hdd makers that paid ISO to retroactively make it 1000. Or worse internet providers that use bits (b) instead of bytes (B) (reasoning that signal transmission uses bits).

It’s definitely the kernel and bios reserving pieces. They need it to run the computer, after all. Afaik even other hardware can reserve memory for itself, like gpus or network devices.

I got a knife my grandfather used, that has been sharpened so much it looks like a fillet knife. Ergonomics? It cuts, I don’t care. It’s a good reserve.

Good point about dimples though. But thinking about it why wouldnt I be able to sharpen it? A knife’s like 2mm thick while a dimple is idk I don’t have one such knife, but it’s probably much less then 0.3mm and the edge obviously tapers.

Stuff sticks to knives because they are flat. They need to have dimples for stuff not to stick. Even with ultrasonic vibrations things will stick because things are elastic and sucktion.

I doubt this knife has the power for its vibrations to make a meaningfull difference in cutting.

Sometimes the log can be, let’s say less useful. Then I’d check the monitor cable. And if the log starts growing after suspend-resume, as that can be buggy.

dmesg (as root or using sudo) prints out all kernel messages since boot, and can also be useful. Xorg errors are usually hardware or driver problems.

Also if you messed with bios… Like the pcie settings.

It could be anything. A good start is to look at… the log.

There is political comics. It would be fine to bring such topics every once in a while, but it is obvious that such topics (gender, sex, war, injustice, etc) would end up dominating. Does everything have to be about rage? It gets old and exhausting. There are many less (or more) important topics to think or talk about. Focusing only on one constantly is not good. Sometimes people just want to think or have a quick laught. Feeling bad constantly is bad for ones health.

That said when i went to read the same subredit a long time ago, every like tenth comment was saying something awful about men. Like if i was some sheltered or unfortunate kid who had no contact with normal women in my life, i would definitely end up hating the entire gender. I went to check again about a year ago and it was fine.

Sucks that womens spaces get invaded by assholes. Sucks that mens problems get waived away. Lots of things about society suck, and lots of things are awesome. Take care of yourself and those around you, i guess.

More to the point, i don’t think this comic fits here so i will thumbs it down.

This is historically because urbanization. It may look to you because sexism or whatever, but that’s because you see sexism everywhere.
