i have found that just tucking dries the bread just fast enough to not get mouldy, and dry bread can be just rehydrated by wetting it and putting it in an oven for a bit

I guess its a play on the fact that some people believe crystals having magical properties having healing energy etc. but in this case even if one does not believe in the crystal energy stuff the addition of the eyes makes it look so cute that it has the intended effect regardless.

In finland american style pancakes are not really a thing that people make. usually we make crepe style pancake called lettu but we also have a thing that translates to pancake(pannukakku) that is not made in a pan but in oven on trays and they are usually denser and thicker than american style pancakes.
