    Understood. Only thing I could think of is that interpreted my make menu_config line as referencing linux from scratch.

    Fun fact: In the 90s, everyone had to compile a kernel using menu_config or menuconfig configurator. It didn’t matter if you ran red hat or slackware or debian, they all had you configure your kernel on some form back then.

    We would often download the latest kernel overnight from a bbs or mirror site beforehand days before installing because you often needed the latest kernel to get your hardware working.

    Anyway, no worries. I was just confused by your response.
