they mean the wake agenda, all these boats disturbing the water’s surface are going to bring an end to society
there’s a very trivial solution that always works actually, it’s called “stop being a prude”
ultimately the people responsible are the ones giving people tools that can be misused, you don’t hand a gun to a child.
well why is it good? why not just assume the boilerplate as the default and require the user to override it if they want to do something fancy?
it’s just busywork to always need to write the same stuff, and it also makes the code less readable and many people look at all that boilerplate and nope the fuck out.
This is why python is so good for getting people to realize that programming isn’t magic, you just write the equivalent of one short sentence and BAM text in the terminal, no need to import the basic ability to print text which is so incredibly inane.
//forgive my sins, it took me 2 hours to nail down this arcane spell. if anyone touches this they will know my wrath =(/&)((//((%=)(&)%)(&()
we really need a proper beginner-friendly language that has no maths
have you ever walked through a doorway and forgotten what you were doing? even god struggles with memory managemeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- Process exited with code 1
no i will NOT use more than one line in my scripts
why would it not have brackets? i detest syntax that is only applicable to a handful of situations and has to be specifically memorized separately from how every other part of the language works.
running linux is a great way to automatically filter out most of the shit games, if it won’t even run in proton then you generally have to be doing some bullshit with the code and thus aren’t worth my time and certainly not my money.
i have to wonder if banks actively don’t want us to use them
that was one example of where they are used lol
i agree, it’s time to let the next generation take over, grandpa
i have absolutely seen multiple projects on github that specifically tell you to do “npm run” as part of deploying it.
to a layman it’s probably best to just… not really think too deeply about this, there is layer upon layer of possible nuance and yet at the same time 99% of the time it’s as simple as “if the ‘thing.otherthing’ isn’t identical then they have absolutely nothing to do with each other”.
To really understand what’s going on you’ll need to dive into how computer networking functions and a bunch of other things, which i do highly encourage since it’s good to know, but the important thing here is that you’re talking about domain names, which i’m not going to try to explain further but rather recommend you look up on wikipedia and other places to learn more about.
this depends heavily on the specific candy/dessert IMO, solid sugar candy is fine because it dissolves slowly, but some stuff just detonates a sugar bomb on your tongue and it genuinely makes me shudder in bone-deep rejection of something that must be poison.
Swedish desserts are generally really enjoyable to me because they have a bunch of savoury with the sugar mostly coming from some sort of jelly or stuffing, like in cinnamon buns.
it’s dead simple: lemmy is like 90% nerds
