Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is something you would like to abolish, and why? (Humorously)
1·10 months agoIt’s ubiquitous in Vietnam, is it not where you live??
Even at the interview?

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Recommendations on an RF macro lens for everyday use?
2·1 year agoBy ‘do everything length’, you mean 35mm with a crop sensor, right? Which is like 56mm in reality

What EF lens that is cheaper do you think would compare in quality to Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary?

2·1 year agoNot much else to say but thank you! You’ve basically given me a quick tour of the photography world and I hope others can get as many insights as I have 🙂

2·1 year agoI’ve come to a conclusion that I’m either getting the stock lens (the RF-S 18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM) or this sigma one (the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary).
But as a beginner, I’d still love to ask you: It’s five times the price of the stock lens, but does the quality improve proportionally? Would the pictures generally also be about 5x better, in some way at least?

Out of curiosity, do you personally think Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary is worth five times the price of the stock lens? I mean: does the quality improve proportionally?
Would the pictures generally also be about 5x better than the kit RF-S 18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM?

1·1 year agoAlso, what do you think about EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 IS? I was told it’s one of the best lenses for ASP-C cameras in general. Would it be great with an adapter?

1·1 year agoI’m talking about that great Sigma lens that is Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary. I feel like I’d love to have it but since it and the camera don’t have the Image Stabilization, it might be an obstacle, what do you think?
I’m not sure how much I’d be shooting in the dark, but probably quite a bit. Is it a big deal overall in your view?

2·1 year agoDoes Canon RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM have better image quality overall compared to RF-S 18–150mm f/3.5–6.3 IS STM?

1·1 year agoSo the Sigma lens that is of high image quality but it doesn’t have Image Stabilization. Would that be a concern with R50 without IBIS?
And is the 18-150mm lens much better than the basic kit 45 one?

2·1 year agoI’ve also been recommended a relatively cheap Sigma lens that is of high image quality but it doesn’t have Image Stabilization. Would that be a concern with R50 without IBIS?
