It’s been a while since I read it, and now I’m ashamed because it’s one of my favorite books 😂

I do wish the ultra wealthy would just become morlocks and go underground forever.

Another really good one that I’ve watched at least 4 times is his Polybius video. He’s an incredible documentarian and an equally great researcher.
I’m sure some of the Polybius one was dramatized a little (apart from what was clearly labeled as actors reading the transcripts), but it makes for an unforgettable watch. And the music!!

I think their comment is supposed to sound like “Get back to work” when spoken quickly 😁

I see two issues with this bad boy:

ohhhh you touch my tra-la-la
Mmmm, my ding ding dong

Best shit I’ve seen all week.
Thanks for the info! I’m aware of JDAM from following the invasion of Ukraine, but I wasn’t aware of the whole arming process.
Now, I may be underestimating my ignorance, but that doesn’t look like JDAM to me. Seems a bit small. Also, the fact that the pilot suddenly looks toward the wing tells me that he was expecting it to shoot out in front, and only felt the mechanical release (or do they use small explosive bolts? I’m more versed in spaceflight so that’s my only other guess 😅) and saw no visual confirmation that it fired.
Edit, just saw your edit! It’s a gbu-12 I guess
Jokes aside, would this pose a threat other than the physical impact? I don’t know many specifics about aircraft and their ordnance, but would this missile be armed just before launch, or once it clears a safe minimum distance, as with RPGs?

I felt like I was alone in being frustrated at this trend. However I found a bit of relief to discover, through messing around in a Win98 virtual machine, that they were occasionally using the term “app” back then as well. Of course it wasn’t as ubiquitous as it is now, but whatever.
Also I thought I’d never see the Xbox kid meme again. What an unexpected throwback!
Gigachad move
And these are the leading theories. Now let’s see the crackpot ones!
Reminds me of Mitch Hedberg’s banana joke.
Oh definitely, it’s just that when I searched the communities, the only result was on .world
I’d love to see an active expanddong community here. Looks like .world has one but it’s super dead :(
You’re right, the tracks are pretty short. But since the game is from my childhood it just has that special something in my heart, you know? And I also agree that the controls could have been better. If you make it to the part where he jumps into the robot dinosaur (my PFP, I forgot to add), there’s a nice variety of weapon pickups to keep the combat at least a tiny bit interesting.
Either way, I’m glad you gave it a shot!
I must admit, nostalgia has an outsized influence on my enjoyment of the things I grew up with, but I’m glad other people are giving it a chance! Like the other person said, the music is a little repetitive, but a lot of games were like that back then. Not everyone can be Koji Kondo!
There’s a game for the NES called Dynowarz and the main character’s name is Professor Proteus. The game is… not great. I loved it as a kid even though I was terrible at it. The music rules though, and I’ll die on that hill.
I’ve never seen a single other person talk about this game since I played it back in the early 90s so I wanted to give it some love 😊
You’re right, huge brain fart… I still wish they would all leave us alone forever, analogy or not
