do you think I went to his place at 3am to discuss the economical and political state of the world?
If it was my place then the answer would at least partially be yes.
Alt account of PM_ME_VINTAGE_30S@lemmy.sdf.org for when SDF Lemmy is doing its monthly dive 😆.

Shifting the definition of slaver, from one commonly understood usage, to your own personal version.
I literally cited the dictionary definition. A slaver is any person involved in the slave trade.
The reason you don’t like it, isn’t any rational practical reason.
You literally don’t have to have a practical reason to like or not like stuff. Like I could’ve been like “I don’t like the monuments because they look like doo doo” and that is a legitimate aesthetic preference.
Because you don’t like it, other’s shouldn’t be allowed to.
When did I say that others should be banned from liking it? I just want people to understand what the thing they’re liking actually represents, which is the vile
settler-colonial project.
Which is kind of funny coming from “an outspoken anarchist”.

Pray tell, what would you actually blackmail him for? Combining his crimes as a private citizen with his crimes committed as the President of
(e.g. enabling the Gaza genocide), he’s basically done at least a little bit of every crime. Like there is literally nothing his followers won’t look past, and there is literally nothing the Demonrats in power are willing to hold him accountable for because if he went to prison, every other POTUS would have to go to prison too.

That’s called Shifting the Goalpost.
oh my God who the hell cares?
Shown that reason doesn’t apply.
Actually you haven’t. Under Lincoln’s presidency, the Union went on to nominally outlaw slavery — except as punishment for a crime. The 13th Amendment has been used to keep penal slavery illegal. Lincoln himself did not personally own slaves, but he was absolutely complicit as a President in maintaining the institution of slavery. So if not a literal slave owner, every President, as the figurehead of a massive institution of slavery, is a slaver by any reasonable definition.
I’m sure that’s also not the reason you don’t like it.
The reason I reject the monuments is because I am an outspoken anarchist and
is a shining beacon on a hill for everything anarchism identifies as wrong [1] about the world, therefore we shouldn’t celebrate people who lead it. Every other “excuse” is a special case of my disgust for systems of oppression and hierarchy.
[1] Edited from “I despise” to “anarchism identifies as wrong”, because it’s not about my personal preference, it’s about what these monuments represent, in particular the systems of domination they reinforce. My personal distaste for them is irrelevant to the argument. (Actually, my personal taste is even stronger: I don’t like any monuments, even for people I like, because hero worship is a cognitive distortion.)

— Abraham Lincoln
Lincoln commanded his soldiers to fight the Confederates to protect another evil: settler colonialism, i.e. the Union. He viewed an undivided
as the more stable version of the settler-colonial project.
Every President of
voluntarily helmed a white supremacist settler-colonial entity. There are no good Presidents, and there never will be, because Presidents are categorically monsters. Monsters don’t deserve monuments.

Broken clock is right twice a day, but there’s a reason we don’t use them to tell time

Off the top of my head:
Personally, I think that slavers don’t deserve monuments, i.e. I hope it looks as bad as possible

To answer your real question though, I need an AI that will actually convert a basket of dirty laundry into a stack of neatly folded clean clothes.
I mean we have two machines that together convert a basket of dirty laundry into clean clothes. And then by appeal to authority (“There’s no law that says I have to fold my clean clothes.”), voila! It’s done.

Depends. Are you one of the workers in the spoon production process? Then no, you’re not an asshole that hoards money, at least not on that basis.
Do you privately own the factory? Do you privately own all the spoons that the workers produce under a series of “”“voluntary”“” employment contracts? Then yes, you’re hoarding money (more precisely, hoarding the means of production and products).
Profits are just wealth stolen from workers.
I’m a bit surprised that you’re reacting to that particular clause in my comment because it’s bog standard socialist analysis. Like I’m not saying anything controversial there unless you’re just not a socialist.

All technologies are grifts when controlled by the capitalist class and marketed under the logic of capitalism. Simple as that. Even the simple hammers you find at a hardware store are a side effect of some rich asshole’s money hoarding operation.
For this reason, I do not reject the listed technologies outright. (Although I do not personally know of a non-capitalist use for Blockchain, I’m open to suggestions.) I reject the capitalists who control these technologies.

If my country’s politics get brought up, I just state that I do not support the government’s recent actions. (Don’t read that to mean I support my government’s actions at literally any point in history
.)

Instead of asking an AI your next question, try “borrowing” a book from the “library” on the topic (serious). Honestly, this would also have been my answer five years ago, before ChatGPT, with regard to basic search engines, since I’m old enough to remember when the advice was to not trust everything you read on the Internet.

Why did humans stop creating wonders?
— Facebook cranks posting on a seemingly magical device which gives them instant access to almost all the knowledge in the world and allows them to talk with their friends thousands of miles away
Hmm I wonder where the wonders went

So the taxi isn’t just a random choice, it’s from the original image. This meme is a work of art. 9/11.
I came because of the Reddit API closure. I stayed because of the huge anarchist and communist communities.
