I give to politicians I really believe in. Occasionally, I give to nonprofits I support. My biggest gripe about giving is getting put on some stupid mailing list, where they send you junk mail. If I could give without telling them my identity, I would be more likely.
I’m read only on a privacy front end for Reddit and write and read for Lemmy. I figure I can help grow this place by contributing while staying tuned in to things on Reddit. I do hope this place grows, but it seems to have plateau’d.
I agree, I think it’s a strategy to separate the left. We should have a workers movement because it will literally unite everyone that is not a 1 percenter
Your insight is incredibly important.
Edit: Why is this being downvoted? Makes no sense. Are you not a worker?
They is used because of ignorance
I tend to agree with this. The main thing this does is takes away the profit from criminal gangs. Of course, when people make drugs illegal they don’t realize they are making criminal gangs rich. But, that is the result. Instead, people are thinking of the tweakers and homeless all over the streets, or their loved one who OD’d. And, truthfully, there likely are certain drugs that can never be used responsibly (opioids, meth). For those, society needs to find a way to manage it. Maybe give away the drugs for free in certain supervised spaces. And, forcibly treat people who are high in public. 8 years in prison for anyone that gives drugs to a minor. But, legalize the drugs so murderers aren’t the ones manufacturing and selling them.
Why tax it? Treat it like anything else. High taxes just make people go back to the black market.
Girthy
No, I had it for awhile, but dropped it around 2017 when the Cambridge Analytica shit dropped and it became apparent why my feed was flooded with crazy polarizing political propaganda that was making people from totally unrelated areas of my life fight each other online. Nothing like seeing a former coworker arguing with your 15 year old cousin over some QAnon conspiracy theory on some post.
70 in the winter. And, and we don’t have AC because most days are cool enough in the summer.

They gave him emergency tariff powers. Idiots.
“Shift left” by doing all the work yourself
Plan, design, code, test, debug, deploy, handle incidents, it’s all your job!
Why the fuck is the media suppressing them?
I think they were mostly just desperate for people who could do the job and wouldn’t quit within a month. I always got my work done, but I learned I’m not cut out for customer service.
Used to work a chain coffee shop. Had a closing shift by myself, but would randomly get slammed with large groups of people. On occasion when customers were rude to me while I was trying to do everything on my own, I just snapped and swore at them and gave them the finger. I thought I was going to get fired when word got back to my manager, but all I ever got were raises and eventually promoted to assistant manager.
Bro, I worked for a company that literally offered us and non-technical staff a coding boot camp. I asked if I could be promoted if I did the boot camp since they were offering it to people a level above me. I already knew everything in the boot camp, as did everyone I worked with. They refused. But, then they also laid my team and I off a month later and some how kept all the people that did the boot camp. It made no damn sense. It’s like the higher ups had no idea what a boot camp was, but thought it would be cutting edge and innovative if it was offered. They were clueless. Meanwhile, they cut everyone with those skills.
I think you’re missing that we are being deeply manipulated by hoards of foreign influence campaigns. Social media has exploded propaganda in the US and divided the population. Some of this propaganda also comes from internal sources.
My office provides free milk, but they some times don’t refill it for days, so whether you’ll have milk for your coffee becomes a gamble and then people get pissed when it’s not there. My solution is to just buy or bring my coffee with milk before work and drink tea at work (don’t take milk).
