The workers do not have meaningful democratic control over society in China, and to claim they do requires some next-level mental gymnastics.

If one believes in control of society by the workers, as socialists ought to by definition (at least, by my understanding), one really ought not tout China as a government to emulate…

China is a decent place to live, but just as capitalist as anywhere else, and is authoritian (again, like many other places, the US included in that to a decent extent).

And no doubt I’d prefer living there over the US. You couldn’t pay me to visit the US.

And at the rate we all send each other emails, this is an annoyance.
