That’s interesting. I had the exact opposite experience in the same timeframe. Those are X’s written really fast and the pen doesn’t leave the page. I’ve only ever seen those marks used to indicate incorrect answers.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•You walk into a restaurant and see this. What’s your first thought?
211·2 months ago20% is certainly not the norm. 20% is amazing service 12 to 15% has always been customary norm in my experience. It seems these restaurants plan to only suggest tips of 18% or higher At checkout have worked on you. Offloading more of the cost onto you.

4·1 year agoNo you aren’t making it up they did stop that from going into effect.
I’m sure this is an attempt to appear like they’re being helpful while actually ingraining the problem further.
I have had the same experience too in the US. Yellowjacket wasps are the absolute worst while hornets are chill unless you get really close to their nest.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Are Nintendo's $80 online game prices a result of tariffs or is Nintendo just using them as an excuse to price gouge as corporations do?
113·1 year agoConsidering they are delaying pre orders due to the tariffs I do not think tariffs are the reason the price is so high. I think Nintendo is trying to set a new standard for game prices. If these games still sell at $80 then I wouldn’t be surprised to see GTA 6 release for $100. The whole gaming market will likely follow.

Say the names together quickly and it sounds like the tire company, Michelin.
I just realized I dated someone with that name as her first and middle name.
Kicking myself that I never realized this obvious joke.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's the most peculiar car accident you've ever seen?
9·2 years agoRiding passenger down the freeway and an SUV swerving through traffic clipped a nearby sedan right in the rear corner. Think PIT maneuver but the sedan ended up vertical spinning on its trunk/boot like a top for at least 3 rotations.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is the OLDEST online account that you currently still own and still use somewhat frequently?
3·2 years agoI personally do not play on the account but young family do. I know there are supposed to be some big changes with the 25th anniversary this year.

Why else would cats put up with us all these millennia? It’s because they crave the long pork above all else.
