  • I decided that I need to get a stable grade first, no matter what. Then I need to increase my financial income.

Only then, I’m hoping that they MIGHT stop picking on me and then I can focus on myself, for myself.

It won’t work. They won’t stop picking on you. It’s not how it works.

Your plan might sound good on paper but you will burn out eventually.

To recover from mental health damage you NEED to be safe. Move out of your parents by any means necessary. If you are in collage get a room in a dorm.

    Step 0. Get to safety
Step 1. Focus on yourself and recover
    Step 2. …
Step 3. Have a successful life.

Depending on your circumstances pausing the university or aiming for bearly passing grade and simultaneously focusing on yourself would be better that loosing sleep.

  • I need to do well in my studies and overall life

What do you mean by that? What would you consider good life?

loser-oriented reasons I used to vaguely remember until 2023 when I started to forget.

This hints at a bigger problem that you aren’t aware of yet.

Why do you think that gaming all night or watching a series is “loser-oriented” behaviour?

  • As you didn’t play games you can go and play banger titles from previous years that you can grab for pennies when they go on frequent sales. There is dedicated community of !patientgamers@sh.itjust.works.

kernel-level anti-cheat is vary good headline clickbait for media to write on. Most games don’t have them. Some competitive multiplayer games have them but you can check it case by case basis.

If you REALLY want to have separate device for gaming, as you don’t really need that, there are few options to choose from. Playstation, Xbox, and Switch are the mainstream consoles right now. The have a fair share of anti-consumer practices and they offset the cost of hardware by making games more expensive, but you buy convenience and simplicity. The lemmy bubble will tell you to buy Steam Deck and it is really fine choice to make. (Steam is releasing new hardware this year so you might take a look)

Steam has 2 hours of playtime return policy, so you can return the game if you don’t like it. Their hardware pitch is to sell console-like experience (Playsation etc.) on PC. They succeeded in that regard.

  • Do you start to see results right away, or are things slow at first?

It’s slow. Super slow. I have questioned the efficacy multiple times, but still after months of hard work on my part there was some progress. It was hard to see but there was some progress.

What’s it like? Is it warm and fuzzy, or cold and analytical?

It’s not warm. It’s not fuzzy. It’s not cold, and it’s not analytical.

There will be a lot of empathy, and just like medicine, that has a bitter taste, there will be pain, but it will be good for you. Best description I could provide is a scenerio where you need to perform a surgery on yourself but the best surgeons of the world have come up with a procedure to save you but they are on the phone. You can’t put yourself under anesthesia, but you have time to learn how to be a surgeon by practising on yourself.

  • Break the system so hard that you need to reinstall the system.

Blender is cool but without a lot of guidance it is impossible to use. Blockbench is easier, and they could figure out how to put their creation inside Minecraft.

Pivot animator but it would need to run under wine/proton

Make a song, I would look into bosca ceoil blue and audacity.

    Make a short movie

    For real this time:

    Drag and drop

    Copy paste

    Select multiple things

    Compress and decompress archive

    Google something

    Find home on the map

    Listen to a song.

    Send email.

Take a photo with built-in camera and screenshot.

    Take a backup

Share a file over the network.

Make terminal go brrrrrr du / (cowsay, lolcat and cmatrix are also fun)

    Input an emoji

Change wallpaper, enable wobbly windows and THE CUBE

  • Having this “backstory” (for lack of a better term), is what drives me forward, without those memories, like if I get a concussion and forgot everything, I wouldn’t really be… well… “me” anymore

Emotional memories is how we develop a sense of self. So if you are really attached to who you are then it will be terryfing to loose who you are.

But we can do really wacky stuff with our memories. We can delude ourselfs into makeing new false memories or misremembering them.

Also you constantly get new memories and change who you are, so you aren’t the same person as you were years ago.

I have grown up without that sense of self and I had to sculpt one from the ground up. So I am not really terrified of loosing the sens of self as I can make one once again. It will be different but it will still be ME.
