Dreams where ur murdered in my ass
I write in markdown literally every day and I still have to edit my comments at least three times whenever I do anything other than a line break. It be like that lol
Gotta use two newlines with Lemmy’s markdown, else it ignores it and then your comment comes out lookin a lil goofy
But with a second newline it’s fine
It is, but that’s not the viewpoint they used in the meme
Not OP, but I’ll give my two cents anyway (I like the sound of my own voice… Or I guess the look of my own text in this case)
Why would I want your post deleted
You came off a bit adversarial in the first comment. I would believe you meant to come off as curious, but unfortunately text doesn’t translate tone well.
Why would you do it if I wanted you to
Human decency. You could also block them, but that’s your perogative.
But yeah please explain how you’re enslaved
The US government does a lot of work to make sure slavery stays legal, they just don’t use that word. Private prisons are the most obvious example of this, but they’re also stripping freedoms and rights from individuals who have never been incarcerated. They make a show every now and then to make it seem like that that’s not what they’re doing, but if you really take a look at the policies that are getting pushed right now and have been pushed in the last few years, you’ll see it.
I can’t remember which state it is, but at least one of them are trying to pseudo-reinstate Jim Crow laws or whatever it’s called when they restrict voting. Married women, older people and the disabled are being intentionally pushed away from polls by making the ID requirements stricter. And that’s one of the tamest examples I’ve seen lately
And I love them for it
Do you consider using a meme format a rip off?
Did you even read the rest of that sentence?
I understand what the cartoonist is trying to imply…
I actually don’t think you do. They are a pacifist, as is shown by their desire to demilitarize the world. They clearly think that violence is currently used primarily to maintain the status quo, and they depict that in a negative light quite obviously.
What they were actually implying is that a lot of people claim to be against violence despite, in fact being pro-state-violence
complete non-sequitur
I don’t think I agree? We don’t see a response to the two questions, but it’s implied that the answer to them is no. This then fills out the sequence to get to that point
Revenue Per Employee doesn’t actually have to be 1000x their wages.
Revolutionary study. Next you’ll tell me the sky is blue
Care a mel shlarmle
I believe the word you’re looking for is anthropocentrism
There’s an episode of doctor who with a similar interaction (to the spoiler).
BBEG: This is why good men always lose. They follow too many rules.
Doctor: That’s where you’re wrong. Good men don’t need rules.
From memory, so exact phrasing is probably wrong but the idea is there
I’m not sure if this is what you’re referring to, but Once Upon a Deadpool is Deadpool 1 but he’s telling it as a bedtime story, so it’s a bit cut up and removes all the swearing.
I haven’t watched it all the way through, but it is still funny at the start at least
Your name isn’t Amity is it?
We largely see the show from the perspective of Brain. It’s not unbelievable that Pinky, or some of the “stupid” things he says are hallucinations, whether visual or auditory and that Brain attributes his hallucinations to Pinky’s “stupidity” due to the Dunning-Kruger effect.
Obviously, this is a death of the author interpretation but… I think we all died this year anyway so that feels alright
Agreed.
