Hmm, so almost everyone comments, but maybe 20% post? That’s a lot more than I was thinking, wasn’t reddit more like 1% post?
I think a software dev can be pretty not guilty if they’re making positive change in the company. If everyone with a conscious quit Google, I think they’d get more evil.
Even if it’s non metallic, watch out for a metal reinforcement down the middle.
Unless you’re traveling close to the speed of light!
I haven’t noticed anything
Pumped hydro seems like it’d have even worse ecological concerns than a dam since you’d need to make a high up reservoir. But hopefully it can be much smaller to even put the peaks in wind power, rather than generating the power directly?
I haven’t seen anything, but let me know if you find anything or make one, sounds fun.
Looks like 700Gwh/y, so 80Mw. That’s not insignificant. A wind turbine produces about 2.75Mw, so you’d need 30 to just make up the nameplate capacity. But it’s probably actually twice to three times that amount, since hydro is very consistent, and wind isn’t. Need to add on batteries for storage too.

I might be biased, but I really like [email protected]. Really fun posting about the wonderful qualities of a good stick.
(FYI, I’m the mod, if you don’t want self promotion, I can delete this. But I do think the community is great)
They help different things. Bees will help the local flowers and plants, solar panels will cut carbon emissions. But boosting plants doesn’t cut carbon emissions since the carbon isn’t sequestered, it’ll go back to the atmosphere once the plant decomposes.
So if you like the look of flowers or want honey, go with bees. If you want to lower carbon emissions, go solar.
Most of it is being close to the camera.
Yeah I agree. If people don’t have a relationship with everyone, that sort of reputation model would be hard, so it wouldn’t scale well.
Trump suggested injecting disinfectants. That’s what the quote said. That’s a really bad idea, whether it’s bleach or rubbing alcohol. Theoretically he could have been talking about injecting disinfectant into porus surfaces rather than people, but that isn’t the immediate interpretation.
Trump spoke carelessly, and said something dangerous as a result. He shouldn’t have, and it’s okay to critique him for doing so. We don’t want a President saying really stupid stuff without thinking, even if he doesn’t mean it.
But which ones? Were they religious communities? Hunter gatherers such that centralization was less advantageous?
And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning. Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs. So it would be interesting to check that. So, that, you’re going to have to use medical doctors with. But it sounds — it sounds interesting to me.
Sounds like he was suggesting injecting disinfectant (bleach) to me.
He clarified later that that’s not what he meant, but I think he misspoke in the moment.
It wouldn’t be through injection. We’re talking about through almost a cleaning, sterilization of an area. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t work. But it certainly has a big effect if it’s on a stationary object.
Do we have an effective bird flu vaccine yet? The trouble is the couple of years before one is created.
