Yup, I made a bad generalization. My bad, and to be clear I’m not a doctor or anything.
Some SSRIs may have an interaction with grapefruit. But grapefruit interacts with different medications differently, and it’s not based on the class of medication, it’s med specific.
e.g. Sertraline (Zoloft) is an SSRI and is listed as having an interaction with grapefruit
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grapefruit–drug_interactions
Eta: thanks for calling that out, I’ve learned some interesting things, for example;
Ketamine: After drinking 200 mL of grapefruit juice daily for five days, the overall absorption of orally ingested ketamine was increased three-fold compared to the control group in a clinical trial. The peak blood ketamine concentration was increased over two-fold.
No grapefruit while taking ssri medicationedit: sorry, this is a bit misleading and an oversimplification

Found it. Kinda tempted to try it as a trans woman, HRT typically lowers the number of random erection. Wonder if there’s any, or what 'AndroAge" it thinks I am
I found the original, a video by sagewind_farmstead (instagram, tiktok, youtube, etc)
eta: looks like she has hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, which could explain the legs and arms looking a bit different
Why do we need competitiveness among minorities when they’re already at a disadvantage? The competitiveness should be equal between minorities and majorities, otherwise it’s not a meritocracy, it’s just oppression.
Edit to add: the disadvantage I’m referring to is bigoted hiring practices that are well documented, and a history of oppression.

2·1 year agoI think you’re just chronically online. Just say female if you’re in a conversation and want to exclude trans women. Most trans people won’t care as long if the context isn’t transphobic. I really don’t see why it’s unacceptable to have an adjective if you’re describing a subset of women. Like there’s not a singular noun for “tall men” but if you’re actually not being transphobic then whatever.
Again with sexual orientation, it sounds like you’re saying that because chronically online. There are people who say it’s transphobic to say straight but exlude trans people. Again, context and intent matters. You can just say straight. This one is tricker because not all trans people have surgically transitioned, genital preference matters, and orientation is a spectrum.
And it’s a tough subject within the trans community itself, because it’s frustrating to present as a gender, transition in every way to that gender, be accepted and pass for that gender, only for someone to say they aren’t attracted to you only after they find out you’re trans. What other conclusion would you have other than transphobia? And it doesn’t help that it often is accompanied by blatant transphobia.
So if someone is calling you transphobic, either the context is also transphobic or they’re misunderstanding your intent.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Do you want the murderer of the UnitHealthcare CEO prosecuted?English
5·1 year agoBecause crimes should be handled in a criminal court case with real consequences, not a civil case. But that’s not likely to happen.
So if someone did sue them, and against all odds they won, and the money they received somehow properly compensated for their loss (i.e. a loved ones preventable death), then the company that extracts billions of dollars from Americans every year would lose a couple million. The company would be unaffected and have no meaningful consequences for their willfully unethical behavior. We’d have to have thousands of successful lawsuits to have meaningful consequences.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Do you want the murderer of the UnitHealthcare CEO prosecuted?English
21·1 year agoThat’s not implied by their logic at all. Not every person is in a position of power like this CEO was, the majority of people don’t have a job that denies people necessary healthcare, and many people will not make the choice to be unethical like this CEO chose.
I understand, and disagree with, the argument that vigilante justice is completely uncalled for but you’re not doing your argument justice here

The hard part of politics is drawing hard lines. But I think many would say it’s authoritarian at the point when a government is enforcing a specific ideology with force and violence, and limiting personal freedoms.
I personally don’t understand how someone can be authoritarian and communist when communism is classless, but to be authoritarian there must essentially be an authority in a separate hierarchical class. But I also likely have more to learn so feel free to correct me
It’s a word outside of lemmy. Just means an authoritarian communist

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is lemmy now what reddit used to be 10+ years ago?English
2·2 years agoIncredible what it looks like outside your bubble huh? Lemmy has different instances so everyone can build a community without nearly as much potential censorship like Reddit. This is the community that naturally formed, so maybe what you call “far left propaganda” the rest of the world calls “normal”
This isn’t too far fetched. I recently saw a video of a woman who is Muslim explaining why she personally wouldn’t take her hijab off in front of a trans woman. Which is the opposite of the op story
BUT… it’s obvious that figuring out how trans women fit into their religious beliefs would be a discussion among Muslim women. Just like Christianity, there are going to be different interpretations, person to person even, of what is ok and not. Seems to me like this would actually be a really easy way for a woman to show her support to a friend.

1·2 years agoThe answer to your question is in the last part of your comment, once you stop to process it So people literally look at pictures as a whole for just a second or two and only notice one or two key details, like human faces and then either move on (especially on social media)
I think most people are still not used to thinking pictures might be AI generated especially when the face, the first thing we generally focus on, looks pretty solid. AI is getting better and it’s hard to keep up.
The straw sticking out of the fries was what got me tho :P
