100%. It’s sort of like an owner’s manual for your life lol. It really can help you understand your impulses and frustrations. And even overcome them sometimes. It’s not possible all the time. But just knowing can make all the difference.

Sort of, yes. Basically don’t be a Sheldon. If you are capable of taking care of yourself or self-diagnosing. You are also capable of understanding and mitigating your behavior and triggers. As well as knowing when to apologize to neuro normies.
Going back to the reference to the show. Nearly all of the main characters on there could be seen as being on the Spectrum somewhere. Sheldon’s utter lack of self-awareness and treatment of others was a setup for jokes etc. It was infantalizing. That sort of thing in real life would stress even the best of friends. Neurodivergent or otherwise.
Diagnosis is about understanding. Understanding is the treatment. And understanding goes both ways. It’s a bridge between us and neuro normies.
If you identify with any of the things on the list. It’s definitely not at all wrong to do some mild self diagnosis. The thing to remember, is that diagnosis official or otherwise does not excuse behavior. But it can help you to understand it and overcome it. And there’s no downside in that.
As others have said, being diagnosed isn’t going to change your life. You will always be you. The only thing different will be that you will have a better understanding of yourself. Why certain things bother you or are stressful. And perhaps how to better deal with them. You might still have to struggle with social situations. But now you will know why. And others might too, and have understanding for it. Rather than think you mean something else by it. Which honestly can be a little life-changing in and of itself ironically.
Then you’re going to be limited to SMB generally because of windows. If you didn’t need Windows NFS is always the superior choice. But only the pro version of Windows has any NFS support.
Just getting started pretty much any hardware will do. One of the best most accessible ways of doing it is something like a cheap Raspberry Pi computer even two gigabytes of memory is enough to get started. You won’t necessarily need the bigger ones. But generally more tends to be better. Combined with some of the more purpose built OS images for things like open media vault or own cloud. It’s a pretty easy and low bar for entry.
After that it really just depends on your interest, needs, and comfort levels. You could just as easily go into eBay and buy a used $100 E-Waste business Tower. It will give you a bit more swap ability and upgradability where you can add things like 2.5 or 10 gigabit networking if you absolutely need faster. A better method of organizing and mounting storage physically. And a few other amenities. As well as some more options software wise. But if you are really new to this. And you really want to do something a bit more DIY that you control as opposed to something like a Synology Nas. It’s hard to go wrong starting with something like a Raspberry Pi.
Just make sure to keep up on your three two one. Three different copies of your data, on two different types of media, with at least one of them stored off site.
First you need to specify a bit more on what you mean by file server. Are you looking for a network attached storage for home use, or remote use as well? Or are you talking something like a seed box for torrenting Etc. What general software environment will you be working with and what others are you comfortable with.
Yep. Enshitification behavior doesn’t cease once you’re technically a paying customer. If they hadn’t made a habit of enshitification. Clawing features away to put behind a paywall I’d give them some support. But I prefer foss anyhow. And for myself, I’m not missing anything.
True and while they are both enshitifying their services. Somehow in this one area Google seems to be going slower. And making slightly less bonehead moves
Definitely a fun fact🙂
To you perhaps. Here no actually. The Last Remnant of the large local mall is set to be torn down soon as Macy’s is closing. The rest of the mall was torn down nearly 10 years ago. There are no remnants of Radio Shack or Blockbuster or Toys R Us here either. Though some of the buildings they used to occupy are still here. But not abandoned.
But isn’t it crazy to think about all those things like that that future Generations will have no good context for
LOL well not trying to destroy it. It’s just one of those things that initially I saw I didn’t think about twice. But then I did think about it it just kind of tickled my brain in a funny way to think how anachronistic it all is now. That there are no phone booths anymore. Where does Superman change now? Does he just do it in an alley like a bum?
I got a good chuckle out of it lol. Though there are some incongruencies. Phone booths are an anachronism that really don’t exist currently alongside tesla. Especially not the bright red BT phone booths. Those definitely would not be the variety seen in Metropolis. But those are only small little nitpicks that don’t distract from the larger message which I agree with.
A Chromecast TV device might fill your gap. There is a jellyfin android TV build in the app store and it works with every TV. Just costs about 50 dollarydoos
Well there’s that in the fact that no one should ever touch anything with Elon Musk has had a hand in. Disappointment and regret only lay there.

Sounds like “heil honey, I’m home”
He did join the party to run as a Democrat. Otherwise he couldn’t have run in their primary and he’s stayed in the party since then I believe.
I never said it did. That’s why Sanders got a lot of that changed working with the Democrats.
It just always comes off as manipulative and disingenuous whenever anyone makes it about Sanders. Especially when they then fail to mention how he worked with the very same Democratic party to make the primaries more democratic. Seemingly being performatively outranged for a man who wasn’t. Almost like you don’t understand the man you claim to support. Or who he is/what he’s about.
I’ve never regretted voting for Sanders in both primaries. Unfortunately a very vocal disingenuous minority do make me reluctant to mention it publicly often.
Because it happens in, every, single, election. It wasn’t some special treatment Sanders got. Serious question, did you just come of voting age in the last 5 years? I’ve been at it for over 30 now, and have seen this several times.
Lol no worries I honestly forgot the spin-off even existed. I was always much more of an IT Crowd person myself. Saw a decent meme someone posted a while back relating to the three main characters of the show with regards to autistic social masking.
