Homepage is my main front end/landing page for reaching/monitoring all my services; but I’ve got both my dockge instances linked together as well, so all my services show up in both.

I run watchtower on a cron schedule. It had already fired for today, so it wouldn’t have run again until tomorrow. I could have waited, but manual is just as easy.

I do love docker + a front end like dockge.

Saw this post, switched to my browser, clicked three buttons; vaultwarden is now updated. Didn’t even move my lazy ass off the couch. (I’m on my phone)

Plenty of people use the physical power button - including me. It’s directly equivalent to the software shutdown button, but you don’t have to go to a specific menu for it. Just press and walk away.

You can also change settings so it puts the computer to sleep or hibernate, instead of a full shutdown.

Your experience =/= Everyones experience.

For a bonus, the sensor reacts when people walk too close in front of it.

All the sinks, toilets, and urinals in my work bathroom use touchless sensors. I often have to wear high-vis; when I walk through the bathroom (even directly along the far wall) every sensor goes off as I walk past. Water for everyone! Even the ghosts.

There’s still a switch on the psu if you really want it off NOW. Or you could unplug it.

The power button does a graceful shutdown by default because most people don’t like data loss/file system corruption…

I had a small short hair Pomeranian-Chihuahua mix we called ‘Bear’ (he thought he was big and tough, but only stood 10" tall).

One day he ate an entire pop can. Pulled it out of the recycling, shredded it with his teeth and ate most of the pieces. All he had left was the top when we found him and took it away; he couldn’t quite get through the rolled edge, so he couldn’t break it down enough to swallow.

Somehow, he was perfectly fine. Didn’t go see a vet, wasn’t bleeding or showing signs of pain/illness. We did find a few shiny pieces in his poo while cleaning up the backyard…

Since you already run Immich; why not use it’s share links?

The page they bring you too has the image/video embedded in it alongside showing metadata, but you can right-click/long-press and ‘open image in new tab’ to get the raw image link for embedding in lemmy posts or wherever you needed a public image link.

May be a difference between regions, but thrift doesn’t clean clothes around me. You’re expected to donate clean clothes; But if it’s visually in such rough shape that it needs to be washed first, it’s ‘rag out’, otherwise it goes on the sales floor. Laundry is a huge expense for a nonprofit; instead, they expect you to wash it yourself before wearing it.

I’m not aware of any seprate clothes recycling facilities around me, and can’t find one with a quick search. Just the typical thrifts.

I have bought a grand total of 3 brand new pieces of clothing in my whole life(not including underwear/socks). Every single other piece was either given to me for xmas/birthday/random gifts or bought from thrift stores. Anything I can’t wear anymore has either been donated back to thrift or cut into rags myself.

I’ve also directly worked in a thirft store, where anything unsellable get tossed into ‘rag out’ where it’s donated to a company that turns it into cheap bags of shop rags: so even stuff that’s falling apart is still worth donating.
