Codex@lemmy.worldto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•It’s Friday, Black Friday, Everybody Go Shop on Friday9·10 months agoAs Abraham Lincoln famously warned, “Don’t believe everything you read on the Internet!”
Thish posht… isht very intereshting sniff what ideology can we ashsume from it?
Codex@lemmy.worldto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•it’s hard being a twisted fucking cycle path12·11 months agoI like how I know this story didn’t happen anywhere close to me since: no one calls them “cycle paths”, we hardly have any “bike lanes” anyway, and we definitely don’t have any trains to ride while discussing biking.
Now, if this had been a story about guns, trucks, and psychopaths, it would have been very relatable.
Codex@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Some random stranger sent me this image in matrix. What do you think?13·11 months agoI also got randomly sent this image from a matrix on the technics.de server. Aside from all the antisemitism and nazi stuff, I admit I was a little charmed by it. Reminded me of timecube and the good old days of how the Internet used to be a place for nerds, outcasts, and complete fucking psychopaths.
Edit: Link to proof ཚྒྷཚྒྷ
I’m not posting a Snopes link or whatever, but it was Mussolini who allegedly got the trains running on time, and he didn’t anyway. Improvements to the Italian rail system were begun under the previous government, and actually the trains weren’t particularly punctual under his regime anyway.
Codex@lemmy.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What internet slang term do you love to use and see used?18·11 months agoAs a person who occasionally makes confessional asides “to the camera” I find it amusing to rhetorically ask “Chat” about things. “Ugh, I don’t wanna cook tonight. How about it Chat, we ordering pizza?”
Ah, a classic! For today’s lucky 10,000: http://www.longestjokeintheworld.com/
Codex@lemmy.worldto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What does baobab *wood* look like15·11 months agoFound a few things:
A carved and polished table, shows color and cross section well.
A wiki for a minecraft clone that already has baobob wood.
Following another poster’s advice, here’s a cross section of one cut down.
In other depictions it often has little holes in it, which seems like a thing that happens to some baobob wood, otherwise it kind of just looks like medium color wood with some dark bands.

This is why we love the Saints. Terrible at football but at least they know how to party after the game.
Codex@lemmy.worldto Comic Strips@lemmy.world•Is it true you work well under pressure? IS IT?! [Comiclicious]2·11 months ago“Yeah man, I’m fluent, says so on my CV!”
“But it just says ‘Fluent’. Fluent in what?”
“What do you got?”
It’s because they ruined Linux! Damn Linux users!
I prefer the original to this pop cover.
Before I checked the community, I misread the ahnk as a Venus ♀︎ and thought this was a coming out as trans post. All the same, you go girl!
I’m glad someone else is calling this out. He seemed so thoughtful and methodical previously.
So for the guy to get busted because he eats in a public place, while a huge manhunt is ongoing, and he happens to have on his person: the gun, the fake id previously used, and a manifesto expressing his motive? It’s ridiculous! He could have tossed the gun into a body of water anywhere on his route outside NYC and it would never be found. And why reuse the same ID if you had several? Why not burn the associated IDs after they’ve been compromised?
It doesn’t make sense to me. I’ve seen suggestions that this could have been a state hit, maybe to destabilize the country further? Would our spooks make up a lazy narrative to cover up for their spooks?
