What, exactly, do you think a community of randos is going to do against a heavily-armed extra-legal military operation?
This isn’t a jab or a gotcha, I’m genuinely curious what this idea of community defense would look like.
40 year old she/her or they/them or any pronoun. I’m a woman… I think. I pretend to be an elf on the Internet. Lesbian-leaning bi, mostly attracted to femininity in all its beautiful forms.
I use tone indicators.

I’m so glad I didn’t end up going into IT. Retail can be tiring but IT would be soul destroying.

I’d like to say I upvote anything that I think is a positive addition to the community it’s posted in, regardless of whether I agree with it substantively or not. But honestly, it’s all just vibes.
Downvotes aren’t a thing on my instance and I like it that way.

HOW COME NETFLIX REMOVED THE N FROM THEIR SHOWS, KIND OF MAKE IT SEEM LIKE THEY BORROW ALL THE STUFF? I USUALLY USE IT FOR A SEGWAY INTO OTHER SHOWS/MOVIES NOT MADE BY THEM?
(sorry, couldn’t resist)
Can Hackerman tell me my IP please? I can never remember where that’s hidden. Thanks!

I wouldn’t do it.
The risk is huge. To maintain good diplomatic relations they would probably forward the emails to US federal law enforcement (assuming they weren’t just sniffed in-flight), who would gleefully take a cheap W by throwing you in a Supermax prison.
Absolutely not worth it for the reward of feeling slightly cheeky for a few seconds before realisation sets in.

I mean, it uses WebRTC which is an encrypted format, I suppose if you have to go via a relay server that might be a possible attack vector but certainly not enough to worry about over something like a group photo.
For multi-recipient or if you’re worried about snooping you might want to try https://wormhole.app/ instead, which is instead a temporary file host, it’ll host files for 24 hours encrypted at rest (the encryption key is built into the URL you share)

Can’t comment on the nebulous “safe” but it works over the interweb, you join a “private room” using the buttons in the top-right and the devices should just see each other. You can also pair devices so they permanently see each other. I sometimes have to close and reopen on one device or the other for the devices to find each other.

Why aren’t they rioting?
The same reason you aren’t.

You must be a load of fun at parties.

https://pairdrop.net/ - zero-configuration peer-to-peer file sharing across any network (including the Internet), it’s made exfiltrating files from a VM super easy.
(also +1 vote for SyncThing, I discovered it this year too and having my phone and PC sync a folder has been incredibly useful for things like podcasts and audiobooks)

The one I visit in northern England has one. However, it didn’t accept my card the last time I went. I’m with one of the main banks who’re part of the Link network (the major inter-bank cash machine network in the UK), so I’m unsure which cards are accepted and which aren’t.

Ok, what do we know. We know the bulb isn’t screwed into anything. We also know the switches are in the “on” position but the bulb is not illuminated. From that, we can conclude that the switches do not control the bulb at all, or the bulb is somehow wirelessly activated by a switch being moved into the “off” position. We bring the bulb through and throw the switches one by one, see what happens.

buses acting as airplanes in the USA
I’ve heard of buses acting as trains (rail replacement service) but imagine being told your airplane is cancelled and you’ll get a replacement bus service

Strong Bad made seven fifty funny too :)

You could do it since 00

ProTracker modules, that takes me back to my Amiga days! I don’t think I’ve ever heard them described as “spicy midi” before though. I may have to steal that. ;)
Also XMPlay runs flawlessly via Wine. I have it installed on my desktop for the occasional music file VLC won’t play and Qmmp is no help with. :)

Tailscale is the one I use. It’s free for up to 5 devices.

Thanks chickens

I have a refurbished laptop, no clue how old it is, but its battery has long since died. It runs Xubuntu, it’s fully up-to-date, and it’s still a fine lunchtime battlestation. It’s not gonna win any awards and it doesn’t have the latest gaytracing graphics chip, but all I do is browse the fed, what more do I need?
