I was a pirate before there was even Pirate Bay. Was just talking about the state of things now.

Hmmm. Favourite show only on 2 times a year (Season), 2nd is replay of the same episode . Lots of unstoppable ads. No other way to watch it later. This went on for a couple decades.

Less TV’s and no one had a device. The battles for who got TV time were epic between my brothers and I.

Then VCR’s showed up. Recording show with commercials was the only way. You could fast forward but annoying.

Then Netflix and other streaming services would have no commercials and you could watch anytime. Golden age.

Now ads are back even if you pay. Guess we are back to cable era again. Regression sucks.

I was brought up by my parents who were both in WWII. I was told on the daily all about fascism until I was a teen. I saw countless media about the war that has not been seen since the 90’s.

I had first hand reports from my mom about when she was at the docks with the soldiers who had returned from Normandy. When she went to help them off the boat their skin would slide off. Who in the world wants fascism again. Sadly quite a few it seems. Most I do not think can comprehend what they are rooting for.

My brain is so fucked up right now. I feel like I am in a fever dream or I got zapped to a different world in the multiverse.

I buy relevant stocks to make me rich and revel in the fact that there is no internet again. I am 68 and have been there and done that already.

I got rid of 95% of all social media years ago. Was only using reddit and a bit of Lemmy. Got nuked off of Reddit a couple months back and have now been on Lemmy since then. Nothing hardcore about quitting. It will be better for your sanity.

Something tells me we’re probably going to get both.

Yup, had perfect health until 10 years ago then I got bad discs, arthritis and neuropathy. Now I cannot walk more than a metre or 2 before major ouchies. Enjoy it while you have it.

Love spuds, no issues at all. Avocados now that I think of it as well sometimes.

I not only hate vegetables but what they do to me is just plain nasty. I can only eat peas, artichokes and sometimes corn. Oh and marmite, I can eat that stuff right out of the bottle. I eat any veg and bam I am a fart machine for hours, my stomach hurts like hell and my bowels freak out. I am almost 70 and I have yet to die from not eating veg. What I almost died from was friends and family incessantly saying “eat your vegetables” like I am 5 year old.

Can add Doug Ford to that list as well. He is following the fascist hand book to a T here in Ontario.

I was in grade 2 in the 60’s, around 7yrs old I guess. I had a teacher who was named Miss Eaton. She was a very old mean spirited spinster.

We were learning how to write. I find that I am left handed. Old battle axe started smacking my left hand with a ruler saying I’ll get the devil out of you yet and kept forcing me to write with my right hand and smacking me when I didn’t. This went on for a while (ya I guess I was dumb) until my mom saw my red hand and asked. Well holy shit she grabbed her keys and me right then and there and drove at the speed of light to the school and barged into the office. Damage to this day was done. I have horrible hand writing.
