I think he’s trying to substitute populism for health science, which is irresponsible and awful and will kill people. That he’s using eugenicist language in the process, and eliminating vaccines because ‘big pharma corruption’ while not meaningfully checking big pharma power or abuses smells like a plan to watch the children of vulnerable populations die. The rest of it- making noise about redesigning the food pyramid- is just smoke. The ‘new’ recommendations are just a rebranding of previous recommendations to pretend like they’re doing something about how our food systems are shitty because mostly FDA spends food money to subsidize the ag industry and processed subsidized product is profitable in ways that healthy food often isn’t
Ahhh, the “continental shelf” toilet
This is where windfall taxes come back into basic utility. Also it becomes the basis for antitrust action on price collusion if all the sellers coordinate

I usually use the name of the drug when there are multiple brands with trade names for it, or when there are trade-name drugs that use multiple formulations with different ingredients.
For example, famotodine is the active agent in Pepcid and Zantac. Omeprazole is sold as Prilosec and Losec. Acetaminophen is in Tylenol, Tempra, and Panadol
When I want Pseudoephedrine and not phenylephrine, they’re both branded under the trade name ‘Sudafed’ but only one of them really works for sinus pressure.
When I want Dextromethorphan or Guaifenesin (active ingredients in Robitussin) there are lots of other brands (Nyquil, dayquil, etc) that deliver them and knowing which drug is which and what part they do means I can pick which one to use if I don’t want the other one’s shitty side effects.

I’d take it today. I’m in my 50s, I’m an endurance athlete (I race bikes) and the calculus looks like: if I wait 20 years I get to experience body-age 50-70 twice, but if I take it now I experience 30-50 twice. Living my prime twice is better than enduring my decline twice, thanks
LOL whenever I have to work with DateTime systems that try to account for every possibility (and fail trying) I am reminded that in some disciplines, it’s acceptable to simplify drastically in order to do ‘close enough’ work.
I mean, if spherical cows are a thing because that makes the math of theoretical physics doable, why not relativity-free or just frame-constant date-time measures that are willing to ignore exotic edge cases like non-spherical livestock?

The important part is to increase awareness that Autism is a disability and to ask for
toleranceunderstanding and accommodation.
I try to help.
If we’re using the language of disability, ‘understanding and accommodation’ seems to afford its subjects a degree of dignity. We tend not to ask for ‘tolerance’ on behalf of the disabled, after all.

Now you have ruined three lives forever
Yeah this is the point where I’m really glad other people having kids is not his decision to make. I’m high-functioning enough to pass for neurotypical, but my sense of injustice at this is amped beyond deep-fat-fry, on to ‘hot as the sun at its core’
Another really simple way to do essentially the same is to set the bios in your machine to support boot from a USB stick (and in some machines, that involves disabling the ‘secure boot’ setting that prevents any OS but the OEM OS from loading on the machine). Once you’ve got that, you can run any distro if you’ve got it on a USB stick by booting your machine from it.
