Seeing as there is very clear paternal symbolism throughout, and even internal dialog of the minster monster referring to the “doctor” as his father, I think it’s pretty reasonable to assume the minster monster took the same surname.

Sapient, not sentient. Sci-fi has co-opted the word, but sentient basically means able to feel emotions. There are plenty of sentient species right here at home. Sapient is the word sci-fi usually wants, there are no known sapient species aside from humans. Though some may argue that a couple other animals may qualify, it’s a very fuzzy concept that is hard to identify with a being unable to communicate abstract concepts.
If it slowed down it would get closer, not further. The truth is, any orbit is only stable given a specific timeframe. The longer that timeframe, the less likely any given orbit is to remain. The moon has just a little bit more speed than the Earth can hold onto, so it is in an extremely slow escape, and always has been.
I don’t pronounce those A sounds any differently, I didn’t realize that was your point. Maybe there’s a bit of a glide in pan, but both have æ sounds.
Laser needs the vowels to change, but there’s no reason to change the S.
The S in laser is changed from Lassy to Lazy.
Gift is by far the most commonly used word that is comparable, and it is a very close comparison, it makes sense people would base it off that. I’m a soft g person myself, but the one letter change doesn’t hold up very well here. All your examples have an additional letter specifically to change how another letter is pronounced using well established rules. That is not the case here at all.
Ah, I prefer folded like you do, but if I’m in a rush I’ll fold like she does. It is definitely easier and faster, doesn’t look as nice though.
We should all just go skuh-bah diving with the sharks with lass-ear beams on their heads. Acronyms don’t always inherent their original letters’ pronunciation, as seen in skoo-buh and lay-zer.
IMHO, there has to be more incentive for the player. That’s a thing you can do, in Arkham, but it’s a thing you’re supposed to do in DMC. There’s the combo tracker pushing you, lot’s of flashy moves designed to help push the combo, and some moves that aren’t as good but exist to look cool while rotating through moves. It’s a matter of intent, not just if it is possible.

Yeah, a subgenre emerged with a set of identifiable attributes. Some of those attributes have been dropped from the definition, but there still isn’t a better term for a game where you start the run in a generally weak state and quickly power up with only one life (with maybe extras from items) Sure, we could come up with a snappy name for the genre/mechanic, but why when we already have a perfectly serviceable one?
Pineapple is so metal, fucking fruit that tries to eat you back.
IIRC it is actually mostly from algea. A small amount from some fern-like plants. By the time trees existed, they were being broken down by bacteria.
Seems like it, they are announcing that the wife is single to the ladies after all.
This is why we need to bring back yae and nay. We used to have two different yes and no words, one set was used in exactly this context. French still has it IIRC. I can’t remember which were which in English, I think yae and nay were for positive questions, and yes and no were for negative questions. Aha, quick Google shows that is right, neat.
That doesn’t really work either. Human brains are not great at computing unless you are looking for “good enough,” results, and only on some pretty narrow fields, facial/speech recognition, some physics interactions, etc. But worse than that… we’re kind of using them. If they wanted us to compute, the whole function of the Matrix is just taking up run cycles. And you can’t just coopt them during sleep, we need the rest periods ,or we literally die. Only one answer makes sense to me, it’s a nature preserve. They didn’t want to be responsible for destroying their creators, and the only other sapient species known to exist. So they build the Matrix to keep us docile. Then, the energy reclamation actually makes some sense. They’re never going to be net positive, but assuming they are having difficulty keeping their society powered, they would be incentivesed to reclaim every watt of power they could from us to reduce our burden on their grid.
Just started my Kagi trial, and it has been such a breath of fresh air. Will almost certainly subscribe as soon as the trial is up. Remember, if the service is free, you’re the product.
Using a single sheet towel.
B, A, using one whole side of the towel. Then fold it in half with the dry side out. Shoulders/begin C3, C4, C1, finish C3/C2, D2, D1, E1, E2, F, all with one side of the towel. Then flip it and use the dry outer side to do a quick pass in the same order.
