Maybe the take is tired because it’s the right take and you’re tired of hearing it?

the take is tired because it assumes people give a shit about real art and not lowest common denominator bullshit, which has been wrong since audiences existed.

You are wrong and you are the minority by a huge margin

Really? I want to know how exactly companies have been getting away with mass media slop since the invention of the radio is “the minority [opinion] by a huge margin”.

Because people don’t give a shit about real art, and love the lowest common denominator bullshit. I want to hear how that’s incorrect.

People in power get away with all sorts of heinous shit that the majority don’t like or want, capitalism pushes cheap shit because it can, most people prefer quality when they’re offered better alternatives

people looking to make money, and win votes. and because of them, the planet is the state it’s in, politics are the state they are in, and the arts have been suffering for a while now anyway, thanks to boardroom slop made by hand.
