When I go to people’s houses, their toilet paper area never seems to have as much of that goddamn dust all over the place. Is it my toilet paper? I swear even when I clean, there’s a film of that stuff that comes up all over the toilet and behind the toilet. Am I doing something wrong?

Edit: I have a bidet. You still need to dry your ass and vulva with a bidet. Guests still want toilet paper. Now I’m more concerned - do y’all not have toilet paper just because you have a bidet?? It’s not safe to leave your ass moist!

Sounds like it’s a brand issue though but my partner is unwilling to switch from the ultra soft whatever we have so I guess I’m SOL.

Okay some people are answering with Bidet as a solution, which makes no sense (you are not going to hose down the bathroom are you?)

A photo could be useful in diagnosis, but maybe not. It could be the TP brand, it could also be regular dust since you mention it gets behind the toilet seat too.

Are you near a window? The worst cases of dust in the bathrooms that I’ve seen were caused by debris from the window. It doesn’t even need to be a large window. My money is on the TP brand from the sounds of it

I have a bidet with toilet paper to dry off/for guests/for various other uses for toilet paper.

Not near a window and the dust is thicker and primarily builds up below the toilet paper roll and on the holder. It’s not the same as regular dust build up. I mitigate by placing the bin under the roll but it still gets everywhere.

It’s hard to get a picture but this is the thicker dust on my toilet brush, which sits just next to the bin/toilet. Toilet brush with dust on it

It makes perfect sense. If you don’t use TP, there’s no paper dust in the first place.

What else are they doing in there for there to get that much paper dust? Book binding?!

Man, it’s getting harder and harder to determine if people are joking or not. I am quite sure you are, but just in the case that you are serious, OP never mentioned paper dust to start with, just dust.

There’s no way they didn’t mean the layer of tp dust that comes from some extra soft brands of toilet paper.
