I been playing modded Minecraft for years and years and I never seem to be able to get into vanilla Minecraft because of lack of accessibility options (like sorting your inventory easily or inventory management)
My question is there anything in the newest updates that are actually worth it? I stopped following the vanilla updates years ago because it was always just mob vote this mob vote that with little to no content or any bug fixes.
But I haven’t seen a mob vote or anything and yet there updating it.
Is there anything sense 1.18.2 that’s actually like ground breaking good or anything. From little I seen was a weird like weeping angels mob and riding that’s which I find really weird they add that besides “look it’s cute and look.its scary!”.
Anything in the latest updates that I should look into that I could try out?
There’s been a ton of stuff since 1.8. This will obviously be a brief summary but here’s every major update since:
1.9 - Combat update. Overhauled End.
1.10 - Frostburn Update. Some new nether blocks and new snow mobs
1.11 - Exploration Update. Added woodland mansions, new hostile and friendly mobs, and a bunch of new useful items
1.12 - World of Color Update. Some quality of life stuff with color blocks I guess
1.13 - Aquatic Update. Overhauled everything rivers and oceans. New mobs
1.14 - Village and Pillage Update and Texture Update. Added village raids and overhauled a ton of textures
1.15 - Buzzy Bees. Added bees
1.16 - Nether Update. Complete overhaul of the nether
1.17 - Caves and Cliffs. Completely overhauled terrain generation
1.18 Caves and Cliffs part 2.
1.19 - Wild Update - Added new scary underground biome and mob
1.20 - Trials and Tales. Added archaeology and new mobs.
1.21 - Tricky Trials. Added trial chambers
I guess the main change is that you get to go on new kinds of adventures depending on what you like.
You have the option to go and explore massive caves, maybe find a trial chamber where you can get good loot early-ish game. You can slowly dig out an ancient village or underwater ruins filled with artifacts. For a challenge, there’s the ancient city guarded by a ferocious creature that will detect you if you make a sound.
All of these also added new redstone elements if you’re into building machines.
But also if you like to build, then there are new blocks, new paintings.
And if you just enjoy walking around, biomes are more diverse and more full of elements. Flowers, bees, goats, foxes, axolotl… I particularly enjoy cherry trees at the base of snowy mountains.
Note: I’ve only been playing for a few years so these are all relatively new additions, I’m sure I’ve missed a ton of other ones
Can’t you play vanilla Minecraft with accessibility addons? I believe they call it vanilla + or something
Nothing of note for content since 1.18, really.
A lot of the resource and datapack changes are nice though.
