I love to learn. I find that listening to someone talk about things they are passionate about nets me a huge boon of information, minutia, and observations I could have never made myself.

Much of it I will not remember, but some of it is absolute top tier, high value knowledge that I would have never been able to distill out of whatever genre, without a similar investment as them.

I also love to see people excited, and to get to play in that with them.

I info dump because it is the human condition to default assume others are kind of like you. And also, I’m looking for those people. I’ll pick up on your cues pretty quick if you hate it though.

People who don’t, I assume are incapable of seeing the cues, especially if they are otherwise visibility autistic.

Neurotypicals who do this, I’m almost certain just don’t care about others at all.

Is it? I generally would assume it is a higher chance they would not be interested (conditional on that person being someone I don’t know).

But in any case I think it is mostly because I can’t explain complex stuff very easily to someone not acquainted with the topic so I find it useless to try. And I don’t suspect I am neurodivergent, atleast largely.

I have come to realize people who spend time in certain topics become “smart” in them (i.e they can make connections others can’t make or have dexterity of thought regarding questions, problems, ideas on that topic). In this can be pretty much limited to that topic or its immediate neighbors. So every such statement should be evaluated conditional to the topic and the person’s experience with it. Of course I have met couple people in my life that could make deep comments on topics they have even met for the first time but that is a separate category of people.
