I took this pic while on vacation to South East Oregon (specifically a place called Lake Abert) using my Lumix G9 and my 100mm - 300mm lens at the full 300mm and f/5.6.
I was really happy that of all the critters I saw that day this one sat still long enough for me to get a decent shot.
This little bird chilled for quite awhile singing away which was pretty cool.
Lovely photo. Which lens do you use? I have a 14 - 150mm and am researching some with longer reach for my 4/3 system (impotus being birding). Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.
I got the Panasonic 100 - 300mm f/4.0 - f/5.6 lens for my camera linky link, when I got mine it was $600 new.
I like it though at times it doesn’t quite feel long enough for me so I feel like I should have gone with the 100 - 400mm one but it’s so much more expensive for that extra 100mm. There’s 2 brands of the 100 - 400 and they’re both great lenses link 1 and link 2.
I do have a bit of fun with mine but getting shots of animals is damn hard for me and other than that I take shots of the Moon with it.
I’m probably going to pick up a star tracking rig this summer which will make that 100 - 300 really interesting
