Was in a brewery in South Carolina, tourist asks the bartender for a bud light. Bartender politely explains that it’s a brewery, make their own beer, and directs him to a beer menu. Tourist says, “just give me whatever is closest to a bud light.” Absolute monster.

Went there as a kid, great mint tea. Some of the most inviting people I’ve ever met. Sat with nomads hocking black wool from their herd.
To be fair, i think most people are like this if you take the time to talk to them. However, their tea may be less good.

You see, IQ is on a bell curve and 100 is the median. That means half of people must have an IQ below 100. At some number, the exact number is debatable, higher reasoning ability diminishes.
The second factor is education/knowledge. Having none, partial, or incorrect information can lead even rational people down the wrong path.
If you combine these, you get what you are observing.
I’ll leave you a quote from Deming… “Every system is perfectly designed to get the results that it does.” I say this because we need to change something if we want a different result.

Google says i should make ~$150k. The sheer scope and complexity of my work deserves far more in my opinion. That and stupid tax to deal with a major corporation. So, I’ll round up to an even $200k. Full effort… $300k.
The closest thing to a real answer that i can come up with is to remove money from politics. That itself seems near impossible a goal, but in order to start making better decisions you have to improve the decision making process that got us to this point.
