I’ve had no issues with my Eufy smart lock. It has a fingerprint reader which is super convenient. It also allows you to program in multiple people, each with different codes, fingerprints, and allowed access time.

I’ve wondered if “premium instances” will become a thing at some point. Not sure how that would work federation wise though. Maybe you’re just paying for an uptime SLA and improved moderation?

Any premium or restricted content kinda works against how the fediverse works.

Maybe certain communities could be instance only? Or only local, paying, users can post or comment.

I’ve had the same nomatic travel pack for like 5 years now. It’s just perfect for travel and commuting. Water proof, 20L but can expand to 30L, laptop and tablet sleeve, it doesnt fall over when I set it down, it has two collapsible water bottle holders, I can latch it onto my carry on, and I think it looks cool.
