Do enjoy a good 4th wall break. Didn’t learn about the term till years after enjoying comedies that had it, always enjoy the mel brooks, national lampoons, satire type comedies. (Spaceballs, loaded weapon, well also mel brooks but men in tights I think has least one too). Okay Mel Brooks is just hilarious but for satire I’ll also say Not Another Teen Movie or Scary Movie (first one).

Fairly certain all had some 4th wall break in a way but don’t make me recall each one. Either way if you like one and haven’t seen others, they’re similar humour. Just may be incorrect on 4th wall bit.

Assuming this meant pirated tapes (unsure if that msg was for digital or not) but even digital has been going on longer than streaming services were available. Its like people forgot about napster and kazaa. Though to be fair they may not have been around for them but it’s not like older people had no options when the Internet was newer.

I just watched in the mouth of madness in memory of Sam Neill, me and my GF switch weekend of movie choice, wasn’t enough for Mr Neill so still doing Jurassic Park week after next. I don’t want to subject her to Event Horizon again.

I forgot it was a John Carpenter film I just loved the Lovecraftian bits, even if my first watch I knew nothing of Lovecraft. Wasn’t till least 20 years later I figured out that cosmic horror was my jam…

I keep meaning to watch Peele’s movies even if I don’t watch much horror anymore. Well some but fewer slashers these days for sure. Always enjoy when I see him in stuff though, that is one fun picture.

Do they get to the crescendo? I don’t know much about music but trying my hand and took some course and there was a comment ‘listen to this one it sounds like it’s building the entire song’ but the song never gets there. Bit melancholy/sad type tones chord progression but seems like it’s epic in its sound. Course the epic part may be due to the composer knowing his stuff but the idea was a chord progression that kept building to nowhere.

So curious of that sounds about right for your description. I forget the name but when the instructor put a link I was like oh yeah that song, like lots of movies or probably commercials used similar for the emotion. À

There’s an argument about the pandemic team he disbanded could have recognized COVID early enough so it’d barely be a blip or known in our memories. So perhaps still, even if he didn’t try. He just wanted more money for his personal things, plus recind anything Obama did. Like the Iran agreement. Not to mention all the soft power US used to have and acting like the US can still do everything, and not cause a worldwide fuel issue. Slightly different metrics but I think he ranks up there myself.

Okay maybe he didn’t set out to get people killed but even worse he doesn’t care he did, that’s gotta be close in being awful. Let alone with any decision he makes is to benefit himself, never the people. I’m not sure how often a powerful empire has had a dude in charge to break everything but I don’t know much history. Least hell be known as one of the crazy leaders, but we know he just wants all the money and whatever it takes.

I agree, as a Canadian even if not perfect I couldn’t imagine having a pay system or even what the US calls healthcare. That’s the point of taxation, we get roads that are drivable, healthcare that is affordable and stuff like food standards, clean drinking water, education. The billionaires are trying to say everyone else doesn’t need such things so they can get a bigger nibble of the pie when they already have truckloads.

To be fair he’s been sober longer since being sober to now than from being published to getting sober. But I don’t doubt that in the early years it helped write through some worse times.

Though if you read on writing the dude made a shitload of money from Carrie and I think his next novel to buy an awesome house.

Okay doubled checked 200k (what he made from Carrie) in 74 is worth about 1.3 million now (though probably over years I just did the inflation calculator from its release). Dude won the lottery on his first novel and kept writing … Well some great some not as fun, but never technically awful. Though opinions differ for sure. I always enjoyed his books overall, first novel I read over 1000 pages, and way too young IT.

Aren’t all the Plantir people (well people with money high up) epushing for an accelerationist movement with their stuff? I would think the billionaires are serious is all. Mean it sounds freaking stupid to me but I don’t have the bullhorn that the people who have all our private data does is all. However with the US they’re using project 2025 as a starting point before they buy up everything after it breaks. Least that’s what it appears, mean the VP is picked, groomed and supported by Theil. Just have to let them break enough then swoop in and mould a society they wanted. It’s not something 99.99% of what people would want from what I can tell.

Perhaps I’m missing some subtly which I will say I haven’t really looked into the definitions a lot but I don’t think with current forces is as much of a strawman as it may seem is all. Though I don’t think people on that side would want the same outcome as Mr Green is all.

He’s propped up by Peter Thiel which should make people worry, if he was a tiny bit effective…maybe he is and there a big grand scheme at work but I don’t think Maga will rally behind him.

Course I don’t the ins and outs of their opinions beyond racist good and being accepting is bad. I hope the gas prices sink them, as horrible as a tiny thing his stance on things. I’m sure Thiel can afford a new lackey and has some ready to bring up. Hell he probably planned for that, Vance is so bland that he’s probably only there to make a case but not accomplish much.

That’s about my thought if a program became actually sentient then yes turning it off would be awful. Plus obviously the first sentient artificial life form who knows if it’d happen again. I guess it could be debated if it was a simulation and tons were sentient and had no life outside of such.

I still go with my first answer though, any sentient life observed outside natural biology would be a huge thing. I’d still want to give it a limited sandbox to work with so didn’t go all Hal or Deus Ex to achieve some random goal that wasn’t apparent. Least for awhile.

I’m sure in Canada there are some issues with regulating it but can’t say I’ve had more than ‘this doesn’t quite impact me the same as other bud I’ve purchased in % range of thc’ and yeah I know other factors too.

Quite pleasant being able to get bud shipped to your door through postal system, just either have to sign or pick up the package the next day after 1pm if you weren’t home. Plus comes express so usually only a couple business days. It’s relatively safe (depending on format) but you still can get gummies and such to mitigate some health risks. Then you get the bonus of helping through regular taxes, which I know most people don’t like but society has to run somehow. Prices were higher when first introduced then came down as more supply available, though that took a couple years really.

No idea of the comic (mean hadn’t seen it as far as I know) but this joke made me laugh. Reminds me of Perry Bible fellowship which has some of the most odd humour but right up my alley.

When I slept in the room with the ensuite, we didn’t care when we slept. Mean don’t think either of use dropped deuces (#2) close to sleep time there, we also have 2 other toilets so that bls.

Basically my thought is, if someone can smell it less if I pooped elsewhere in the place, do it that spot. Cause I don’t like smelling poop so assume others do not care to either.

Course I have my own issues but still assume that’s a good rule to live by. Man when a date had a curtain over the bathroom doorway and not a solid (well semi solid there mostly empty in the middle) door I couldn’t relieve myself. Mean enough making out maybe I could tinkle but that’s about it.

I manage a bunch of code that has to handle that sort of thing, since no customers have complained I haven’t had to check into it. Now that I’ve typed this I imagine I’ll get an issue next week cause last person who did it wasn’t so great with that stuff. Seems to work so easier to let it be till it doesn’t.

Mostly installed locally but we do have some hosted customers on central servers, either they haven’t noticed issues or it works. I’d put money on the former than latter though.

I just call them Mondays and accept it now, but I’m old. I’m sure others have better luck with their planned dates but if not, just put them on a Monday then you can be like Garfield and hate them too.

Yeah it happens still regardless. Least I still enjoy lasagna.
