I got rid of Google easily. Unfortunately, I still have to use their Messages app for Rcs, and Youtube. But replaced all the other products.

Reddit is proprietary and centralized. Lemmy is free and federated. That’s why I love Lemmy.

I primarily use Ecosia because it plants trees. I also use Mojeek, it’s indipendent.

Using non-free (proprietary) software and believing we are free to do anything we want with the software. But we can do only what the app (the devs) let us to do. We can’t see or edit the code of program to run as we wish.

I wanted to switch from a proprietary centralized platform to a free federated one. The only inconvenience is that I find a group with same name on multiple instances, each with its own content. Instead of one containing them all.
