I feel you— but also what does this declaration of hate garner us? Is it anything beyond the base tribalistic fervor: “we are strong fear us”. It makes sense if we were in person— but I fear this is how we create silos.

If there are conservatives here, and we continually assault them directly then perhaps they’ll leave— and while personally I may feel that would make the discourse more favorable, they do not disappear; they leave and find a more homogeneous pasture. We shouldn’t isolate ourselves lest we contribute to make debate a toxic no man’s land.

Zombies because of the premise that I’m one of the survivors; could find a nice isolated island live a decent off grid lifestyle. If I have time to prepare can even bring niceties like a bunch of raspberry pi’s and hardware and just chill out farming and playing games, developing software, writing, etc. Try to restart civilization.

People make connections with objects, same reason why people start hating certain art pieces when they’re told they were made by hitler. It’s perfectly normal— also good for the environment.

I respect your opinion obviously but I disagree. If the only people who can afford children are the rich then they will be the only people left. I get the sense from your comment that society will miss your offspring, and while I think it should as genetic diversity is a good thing, automation is likely to hurt the value of labor given our current direction. While genetic determinism is overused, I would put forward that those who succeed at capitalism have more sociopathic tendencies and desire for power. If only those people breed will not those traits become more prevalent? If that is the case then for the sake of humanity I think you should breed. Or maybe all of this will be made mute by genetic engineering, who knows.

This would work if my bed were no lt an unconscious battle field for space; if no-man’s-land exists it will be eagerly taken up, any inch given is another inch towards my partners unconscious goal of making me fall off my side of the bed. Would you find it better to get a surprise day off or another PTO day for you to spend? I get that the latter is probably better if you wanted to make plans but it somehow feels more sterile as a surprise good thing might be a pleasant thing, or maybe you could surprise them with a free pto day sometime in the month?

This I think it’s the crux of it, you def want it to be something everyone is interested it which can be hard. So I guess I probably won’t know until I get to know the heterogeneity of my hypothetical team and their personalities and interests

Absolutely agree pay people for there time, so it would be paid. But can’t you be friends? Maybe not as the executive, and no one can be forced to, but wouldn’t it be a good thing if your coworkers were also your friends?

Honestly love these ideas because I get the sense that as an adult (it’s stupid) but some people would be afraid to go to these places alone
