  • You just got to play lightning rod.

People think lightning rods are meant to attract lightning, but that is incorrect. Buildings are often covered with a whole bunch of little 1 foot copper spikes. The idea is a multipoint spray of electrons from the ground up to a charged cloud to balance the charge and reduce the chance of a strike.

During a storm, you can sometimes hear them making a hissing sound as they work.

When lightning is about to strike, anything kind of tall and conductive will do the same. If you feel that static charge building up on you, get your ass as flat as you can. You cannot predict where the strike is going to hit, so running is silly–you might well run toward a strike. Just lay flat and stay away from tall stuff. Don’t be the tallest thing either.

  • Some pets are just assholes.

Had a cat, adopted as a kitten. She was well cared for at all points, socialized, well fed, vet visits, all the stuff you’re supposed to do. Lots of playtime, toys, petting, etc. I have always had a cat through my life, I know how to take care of them. She pissed wherever she wanted, constantly. Back to vet, nothing wrong, she’s just a cunt. Pills, feliway, whatever, pissed on my wife’s coat, the walls, plants, pretty much would only shit in the litter box. Cleaned it daily, tried different types, different litter, etc. Wife had knee/ankle surgery for a cartilage transplant. The night we get home, she’s sick, puking, in pain, was clearly discharged too early. That’s the night the cat pissed all over the pillows and bed. Wife had to sleep on sofa, I slept on floor. Had to throw away pillows and an expensive down comforter that would not come clean. Also the coat.

Got rid of that cat the next day. Fuck that cat. You can say stupid shit like “you should have tried xyz!!!”. You try living in a catpiss soaked hell and then see how much sympathy you have for a fucker like that thing.

  • You call it China cabinet, I call it booze box.

Have no fancy plates, that shit is obsolete.

If I were going to host a fancy dinner, I would go to a restaurant.

Wtf good is China that you have to spend hours hand washing? I don’t have servants and I don’t have a dining room either. I mean I did, but I put a stereo in there instead. We used the dining room 3x a year. I listen to records every day.

    Priorities.

  • I fix cars as my hobby. I don’t know about saving the world with it, but it does save a lot of money and I can help friends/family.

However, your criticism draws an interesting point. Working on a car can be satisfying when you’re all done, but it’s fucking hard work. Hard, dirty, greazy, tiring and many times frustrating. I’ve bashed my knuckles countless times, stabbed myself on sharp zip ties, burned myself on hot engine parts, gotten oil and filth in my eyes even when wearing PPE. I started doing it because I got tired of being fucked anytime I took my car to a shop and I was too broke to keep doing it. Then I just got used to fixing them on my own and it sort of turned to a hobby. I mean, it’s still kind of fun, but most of the time, it’s just boring stuff like a radiator sprung a leak and needs to be replaced, not cool or fun like “I’m going to make this go faster, look cooler, etc”.

However, it isn’t relaxing. I’m tired, dirty and sore when I’m done. Sure, I saved a buck and did it right, but maybe I’m doing hobbies wrong. Maybe a hobby should not have roots in a capitalistic outcome. It should be as enjoyable as something can be, relaxing, stimulating, something you can learn and grow from. If fixing a car is a hobby, maybe cutting coupons is also a hobby–and that doesn’t seem like much of a hobby.

I mean, I still feel the same way about adults who play with legos, but maybe I will do less fixing and more music instead.

  • Apple users are technically inept morons

Men who drive giant pickup trucks are deeply insecure

People who want to live in HOAs are freedom-hating bootlickers

The only people who should be allowed to own trucks are laborers

    Instragram users are all brain-dead

    Privacy is important

People who do not learn how to fix or take care of the stuff in their lives are worthless

Men who watch sports, but do not nor have not ever played them are fat useless pathetic turds

Dogs that bite should all be euthanized, no second chances

Adults that buy and play with Legos suffer from arrested development and should do something useful with their lives

Your pedal bike is a stupid overpriced piece of junk, especially if it cost more than $400

If you wear sweats, crocs, pajamas or anything like that out in public you are a retard, go home and put on some pants

That ought to cover most things.

  • If you want to address the core issue, it’s about our individual differences and the effort/comfort that is required/gained when handling them.

Nothing to do with one’s position on the spectrum. Some people like a thermostat set low, some high. Some like music, some silence. Everyone will be put into a position where they will be displeased with a state that they cannot control. That’s the human condition. Sometimes it’s cold out or rainy or too hot. Nobody did it, nobody chose it. But we have to deal with it.

That’s just how the world works. Some stuff we just have to deal with.

So don’t be a dick or act carelessly to others when it comes to making decisions. Don’t expect that your every need will be met if you’re displeased. Be empathetic and be tolerant.

  • Accutane will indeed do it, but it’s kind of heavy-duty. There are less powerful antibiotics you might want to try first with fewer side effects.

But yeah, you can dick around with soaps, “don’t touch your face” (yeah, right that’s some judgy bullshit) and other stuff that implies that the individual is somehow dirty, has poor hygene, has poor diet or other habits but in the end, it’s bacterial.

Never feel bad about going to the doctor to get real medical interventions. If tea tree oil and other bullshit actually worked, it would be a lot more expensive.
