As a kid I’d have nightmares about falling off a cliff and definitely remember feeling it. I haven’t had a dream like that in a while though

I have never thought about it for smell and sound but I cannot see in my dreams and feel like my eyes are glued shut. Sometimes during a dream I will try really hard to open my eyes and it causes me to wake up. I have aphantasia so it is probably related. I think my dreams are mostly in concepts
Fuck the US hyper-centrism. If this place was so anti US, why are all the communities titled “News” and “Politics” exclusively for discussing seppo shit? This place is less US-centric than other platforms but is still extremely US focused. If you look for more than a second, you will find anti-russia, anti-china, anti-israel and anti-germany shit too (just to name a few). Finally, I just want to say, fuck the United States of America and everything that that hellhole represents. I am sorry that you have to live there
How would you even play operation without the cards? How is it scored, who wins?
Each player gets a hand of “specialist” cards at the start. Each turn a player draws a “doctor” card and attempts to retrieve the part on the card and if they are successful are awarded the money listed on the card. If they aren’t successful the player who has the specialist card gets to attempt it and wins the (larger) sum of money listed on the specialist card. In some versions of the game, there air no “specialist” cards, only “doctor” cards
As someone who isn’t a European, most of these comments are yanks being loudly wrong about something and the saying “see the europeans weren’t ready to hear it” when someone points out how stupid the thing they said was.
which country do you live in? I live in Noongar country, they also use 6 seasons and I think it is a much better system. The Noongar seasons are an ecological system based on changes in nature
There are three popular reckonings for the 4 season model. The meteorological seasons, astronomical seasons, and solar seasons. The solar season places the solstices and equinoxes in the middle of each season. The meteorological seasons are based on temperature but these days are aligned with the months with summer/winter (depending on hemisphere) starting at the start of December and ending on the last day of February. The model the US uses is the astronomical model of seasons and makes the least sense to me, it places the start of each season on the solstices and equinoxes which means that midsummer is actually the start of summer there.
My numbers are coming from the K-12 School Shooting Database. They probably use different definitions. The stat I was going by was just what I saw most articles in my country going by (Australia).
Actually, @[email protected] is closer. There have been 323 in the US this year which makes it 0.93 school shootings per day or 1.79 school shootings per school day in the US (assuming 180 school days a year)
I don’t have a lot of energy so please excuse the dot points
“Earth is overpopulated” is a toxic and wildly incorrect classist conspiracy theory. I am not even going to humour it.
Reproductive labour is the largest segment of labour and entirely necessary to the continuation of society yet is entirely unpaid. Why is that and why do you think that someone contributing to that segment of the labour economy should be treated the exact same as someone not doing that unpaid labour? You say it is entirely their choice yet you benefit from that labour without contributing to it. That is your choice
I know this was targeted at the US but Ill answer from my perspective as an Aussie. Maccas used to be a good option for a cheap but by no means healthy meal. I dont eat there anymore because I no longer eat meat and the only things I would consider buying are exorbitantly priced. $1 AUD for a hash brown was a decent price, $2 is ok but not great. $3.60 for a single hash brown is simply outrageous even before you consider they are 2/3 the size they used to be. Even if I did eat meat, there are far better, more substantial options available for the same price
