I wish I had even 1% of this talent, but my brain is perpetually starved of dopamine so I never have the drive pursue my hobbies. So I’m forced to get my dopamine from artificial sources. But then that eventually stops working too, which makes things even worse.

  • How about you wait until you land an interview first, before you worry about job requirements.

I had to apply to over 300 jobs before I landed an interview, so chances are they won’t even look at your resume. Even with a great resume, it’s extremely difficult to land a job in today’s environment.

I don’t mean to sound negative, only realistic. Your main focus right now should be rapid firing off as many applications as you can, and nothing else. Worry about the job requirements after you get past the application stage.

See this is why I miss COVID. It was the perfect excuse to stay at home and do nothing, and when I did have to go out, the roads were clear and hardly anyone was around.

Pisses me off so much that the extroverts had to ruin everything by bitching and moaning until government officials around the world caved and ended lockdown early.

Bunch of selfish cunts. Literally got people killed over their strange desire to socialize. It’s beyond infuriating.

Agreed, and that’s one of the main reasons why the Apple headset failed (other than the price, and the fact that it’s a VR headset that can’t play VR games, of course).

Three things need to happen before outdoor VR/headset AR becomes mainstream:

    1. It needs to look like a normal pair of glasses,
    2. It needs a to have mainstream software support,
    3. It needs to be affordable (less than $500, ideally under $300).

  • The easiest way to learn manual is to focus on one pedal at a time. Learn how to get the car moving using just the clutch pedal alone.

Seriously, don’t even touch the gas until you can accomplish this. Have someone in the passenger seat to operate the handbrake so that you don’t even have to worry about the brake pedal. Just operate the clutch and nothing else. If you can manage to get going from one pedal without stalling, you’re already 90% of the way there.

The next step is learning when to shift, but that comes naturally with practice. Eventually you’ll become in-tune with the sounds the engine is making, and then knowing when to shift becomes second nature.

  • I like to bring this up whenever anyone argues that natural is better. There’s no such thing as a natural food anymore. We made the food we eat as edible as it is through thousands of years of selective breeding.

This is why I hate the anti-GMO argument so much. We’ve already genetically modified fucking everything.

I enjoy the high school dreams, because for a brief moment they allow me to forget about my adult responsibilities and remember what it was like to be a kid again. The worst part about dreaming about being in school again is waking up.

  • The whole benefit of sous vide is that you can completely forget about the meat—even leave it for days at a time—and it will never overcook. Just take it out anytime, slap it on the stove for a quick sear, and get a perfect medium rare every time.

As someone with extreme ADHD, this is why I always sous vide my steak. Reverse sear is slow, yes, but there’s still a chance to forget about it and let it overcook.
