Because most cheaters will repeat the behavior again. At least, that’s the way it appears. I don’t have statistics to back that up, but this is what a lot of people believe.
And they may not necessarily be wrong because most things you do, you’ll do again, especially something as heinous as cheating, which is a betrayal of someone you supposedly have a lot of love and care for yet can go behind their back and do things with someone else that was meant only for that person who’s special to you. Many cheaters have an attitude of “who cares? It wasn’t that big of a deal.” which minimizes the act and seems like a way to justify it if it happens again or gets close to that point.
I wouldn’t put cheating on the same level as murder, but I think it’s more similar to abuse and may be classified as a type of emotional abuse on some level. It’s really harmful and damaging and can be traumatic. I’ve dated some women who were cheated on and it changed their lives so much and made them very insecure and somewhat broken for future relationships. My last ex was a mess from her spouse cheating on her and leaving her and it greatly affected our relationship and how she interacted with me and eventually led to our downfall.
People care about the person who was cheated on and don’t want them to be hurt again. They know the hardship that person endured and the pain they felt and don’t want them to experience more pain if that happens again, which seems likely to many people. And like abuse, if a friend told me their partner was abusing them, I’d feel very concerned especially if they have decided to get back together with this person after going through that. And I and many others feel very similarly about cheating.
And in the case of relationships, it is super easy to overlook someone’s bad qualities and even evil deeds because of how you feel about them. I, to this day, struggle with reminding myself of the evil things some of my exes did to me that caused us to break apart and instead have “rose tinted glasses” and want them back despite the hell they put me through. Good friends remind you of the reality of that person and that relationship and do so because they care.
That’s not to say that cheating should never be forgiven and you should always be branded as a cheater and never experience real love and you can never fully stop cheating. Nor to say that your boyfriend is wrong and you will most definitely cheat again. No, not saying that in the slightest.
Just saying, that’s where most people come from and I hesitate to say that they’re wrong up to a certain point.
If I were a friend of your boyfriend’s, I’d likely be in that camp too, telling him that I feel he’s making a bad decision to continue in the relationship with you for the cheating alone, just on that basis. But there does come a time where as a friend, you should back off and let someone make their own choices for their own life, you’ve given them everything you hope is truth and will benefit their life, and you earnestly hope and pray that you’re proven wrong and the decision they’ve made ends up working well for them. Thankfully cheating isn’t life ending, so no worries there, but a broken heart can last years and is really damaging and sad. No one wants to see their friend get hurt again if they really care about them.
This is the best comment I’ve come across in a while. Thank you so much for breaking it down so well.

I place little value on someone’s educational experience anymore since a lot of this can and is usually learned from nearly any place on the web or dark web.
It seems that for an evil maid attack to occur, someone would need to leave the device unattended, specifically with their admin/sudo account logged in so they can create the access they want later. That is, unless they discovered an exploit in the system that enabled them to gain that access by some other means.
The three best ways someone would be proactive against this attack are:
If you suspect your device has been compromised, the best thing to do is to shut down and disconnect from the network (unplug Ethernet cable and consider removing the WiFi card; even with the device powered off) and have a professional inspect it. I say that because even if you reinstall the OS or even get another OS, there’s no way to tell if something hardware was added to allow intrusion if we’re worried about physical access being compromised to the device.
This is me always. Would it be okay to ask them to repeat their name? Definitely. Will I? Nope. Too much social anxiety on that one.
Though I am trying more and more to do just that when I am in this situation. Also try to blame it on something else “hey I’m sorry but the music was so loud I couldn’t hear. What did you say your name was again??”
No TVs either? Most laptops and desktops over the last 15+ years have either HDMI/VGA which are generally available on TVs made in the last 15+ years too.
Additionally, if you get Windows 10/11 Pro (can be gotten for free nowadays with some searching) or Linux, you can either SSH or RDP into those boxes so you’d only need the monitor/TV on first time setup. After that, you’d just have the box sitting in a corner and you’d remote into that from another device. I have a Windows 11 Pro and Raspberry Pi at my home that I remote into and they never get connected to a monitor or TV unless something really bad happened like the OS borked or something. I even use my iPhone to RDP/SSH, so you don’t even need a computer for remoting either. The options to SSH/RDP are even better if you’re on Android, in my opinion.
If you have a family TV in the living room, that may be the best place to put it, though you’ll ideally also want somewhere with access to an Ethernet cable than relying on WiFi for the best performance. But I say next to the living room TV because then you can easily hook it up to the TV if you need to and not have to power down and physically move it.
You can set up RDP on most Linux distros. There are a lot of guides online to help with that so you can get a full view of the computer as if you were seated in front of a monitor. Otherwise you can just rely on SSH and run your commands off there. I use RDP for my W11 server and SSH for my PiHole server. The Windows App on iPhone (and iPad) works well for me, plus using a keyboard and mouse if I feel I need it. And then I have an SSH app on my phone I can use to connect and send commands remotely.
Have there been any announcements for plans for monetization on PeerTube? Any idea what that would look like for creators?
Exactly what I’ve been thinking as I’ve started to focus on my health too. Feels like wasted time and it’s been much easier than I led myself to believe. I thought I’d need a buddy to motivate me to go to the gym and get active again. But now I just do it after I get off work. Even if it’s just riding a bike for 30 minutes, just to be active for some time instead of wasting it sitting around doing nothing has been so much better. I feel better physically and mentally.
If this is you too, do it! Make it an investment in yourself. It’s worth the time and money put in. Not that you need to be a bodybuilder and get absolutely jacked, but to be more active in your everyday life will improve so much for you that you never considered. After just 2 weeks of spending at least 30 minutes or more exercising, I was starting to notice results in my sleep, the way I felt mentally, the way I move about (no more being out of breath just walking up a hill; I can now walk a whole mile without taking a breather).
If you don’t like the gym, there are alternatives like the Nintendo Switch has an awesome fitness game that is fun and entertaining and really works you out called Ringfit Adventure. There’s also VR gaming which has tons of games and apps designed to help you work out.
Now comes the eating for me, getting into being more picky and choosy about what I put into my body to further move along in this process, which has been more difficult than just getting the motivation to go to the gym, but will also be worth it in the long run.
You forget that the companies making those cheap cars are often the same companies of the fancier cars. Thinking Hyundai and their Genesis line.
Hyundai will never make a Sonata look like a fancy super car because then they won’t have any reason for someone to want to pay more for the fancier models that their Genesis line has for 3x the cost.
The people buying the fancier cars want something exotic that no one else is driving on the roads. They will willingly pay the premium for that luxury to not look like the rest of the cars on the road. Many also don’t care what’s under the hood, i.e. doesn’t matter if a cheaper Chevy can beat their Maserati, they’re buying the car for the exotic looks.
And then you also have some people who don’t want something flashy even if it is cheap. When I lived in a not so great area, I specifically did not want anything that drew attention to me. For example, I didn’t even want to wear knock offs of high end clothing like a knock off of Gucci clothing because it makes people think I have money and am a target for being robbed. So yes, I want the generic 4 door sedan the broke college kids are driving. Maybe the local thief won’t be so likely to smash my windows or try to carjack me.
I use my turn signal all the time so I’m not one of these people, but here’s what I’ve heard from others over the years:
They shut down third party apps like Apollo. That was my last draw.
Fuck using that garbage official app.
Reminds me a bit of Nighthawks
Thank you! I’m seeing a lot of positive results so far :) I’ve been rubbing my belly today as it’s been getting a lot smaller 😁
I began snoring when I started gaining weight. So it’s likely common among people like myself that are not in the healthiest of state. But getting healthier will reduce it for myself.
I didn’t use to snore at all prior to gaining weight. I let myself go for a few years but getting back to it now to get in shape.

Where did this come from? If a graphics card, it may be difficult to gift it.
I had this happen a short time ago where I got a new GPU and they gifted me a game I already owned and I tried giving it away on here and found that I had to run through all these time based verifications and basically only I could redeem it.
If you have just the Steam key, you can give that to someone and they can claim the game and that’s that. But you may not want to post it directly on somewhere because bots are known to roam the internet and steal them first to sell them on weird websites.
I’m not familiar on that platform, unfortunately, as I’m on iPhone.
But I think you should still be able to use virustotal’s website on mobile to check websites and also files.
There may be a sandbox app available for Android, but I’m not aware of any particular ones to recommend.
I’ve never had one so asking others, is there any way a dry cleaner would take it and clean it?
